Liked the founders, they didn't go for a low valuation as refit or nasher had gone earlier who were also doing good but were eager to get a shark. As anupam said think from an investor purview.. he should also think from a founder purview and look for a win win deal. Anupam is an aushole here. If you can't make money until and unless they make 1000 cr business, then what's the fight of equity share holding? You anyway know they are profitable and give you a great exit. If you take 5% of the equity you might get a better share in profit, which will compensate for the royalty. I personally think that urban space should quit going for the whole "quality" and "customised" prespective and sell adequately qualified goods for a good price . Like you sell curtains and if someone wants to buy a curtain for cheap around 5000 then they can consider urban space as a brand which sells good enough products for a fair price. As the sharks said , a brand in this category is very unusual because no matter what you do the local shop will make better products because they only have to satisfy one client's needs. But for people who want newer designs and fair price without going through all that " Premium Cloth" selection part its a good option for them if a brand is selling good products at a fair price with generalized measurements.
