There's is a stark difference in the way sharks look at this reality show. Aman, Namita, Vinita and Anupam are looking at it to make money and get at least 15-20x exits whereas Peyush is looking at it as a platform to solve real problem of the masses.

My father has hearing issues. We are a normal middle class family (I'm in IT) and still had to take out a gold loan to buy his hearing aids last year. It feels like only Peyush understands day-to-day Indian household issues when he thinks of companies and how their products will help all Indians. Huge difference between him and other sharks on this show. Investing for a safe exit round isn't wrong, but investing to make a better future for this country is a whole other game our man Peyush is playing. Made me a loyal Lenskart customer as of today.

Exactly my brother has hearing issues and we bought the first hearing aid for him for more than 1 Lak. After 4 years he is having trouble with it. The problem is given the economy it’s really hard to buy a hearing aid again for that price. I hope this becomes successful and we get hearing aids at affordable price point.

This was a funny pitch. I laughed at Anupam's interjection at 9:47, and then it felt like everyone wanted to milk a good IP business. I understand that an investor needs their money back through an exit from any company, but doesn't the money need to be spent on the very idea that is making the company alive? 11:51 that was so petty imo. And Anupam's point that the investment structure was 'unconventional', is genuinely an invalid point. When Peyush gave his stance at the end, he asked them a question about burn, and then their vision, and that made them think about some future of the company. I loved that. Vo kehte hai na, "Bandar kya jaane adrak ka swaad", ye pitch se yahi seekh milti hai. We need investors who are beyond money, beyond the balance sheet. But yeah man, its your money, your decision.

If as a Shark your goal is to only encash from high paying businesses then dont speak about contributing for India or solving problems for the masses. Not all deals are revenue generating from Day 1.
