From a scot,you keep the plastic ring on the puddings when cooking as it stops them from breaking up.

Sharon, thankyou for the finger knitting demonstration. I have tried many different crafts but I have never seen this method before. So simple but looks very pretty. I am teaching my 7 year old autistic grandson how to do cross stitch and he is loving it but it is taking for ever to do because he doesn't come round very often. I think he will love this craft because it grows quickly. Thankyou for sharing x

Fruit pudding is a Scottish dish which is a mixture of wheat or oatmeal flour or breadcrumbs, beef suet, brown sugar, currants, raisins, sultanas, salt and cinnamon, formed into the shape of a large sausage. Normally cut into slices and fried, it is an optional feature of the traditional Scottish breakfast.

7:30 Tattie scone or Potato/Tatty bread/farls as they are known in Northern Ireland on an Ulster Fry are the best bit of the breakfast, as long as they are cooked right. Black and White puddings are also a part of a Full Irish breakfast, but not on an Ulster fry. We also have Soda bread and / or Wheaten bread with both of them, too. You can get most of those from Sainsburys. That is where I get mine from. Company called Irwins does "Irish batch" bread. It's called Knutty Krust over there. They also do the potato farls, which are better than any scottish one I have ever tried, brown soda bread (Wheaten) and they only do mini sodas, but you cant really make how we usually would use them as is, because they are far too small unfortunately. We would slice it in half, toast it, slather it in Kerrygold and fill it with sausage, bacon, egg, tatty bread, and your choice of sauce. One of lifes pleasures 👍

Here in Scotland we would have fruit pudding and haggis as part of a breakfast.
@rabsrealm2 күн бұрын
Like others have said, Fruit Pudding is a Scottish delicacy which is optional on a full Scottish breakfast. Personally, a full Scottish for this Scotsman must include a slice of fruit pudding :) Haggis is always best boiled rather than fried in a pan. You can't beat a traditional boiled Haggis.

The thing in the red case is Polony isn't it - not a Scottish thing, used to have it sliced cold in a sandwich. You can still buy it here in most supermarkets I think. The rest of that stuff you can throw straight in the bin for me - not a fan at all, love Haggis but that stuff you have there is not Haggis and the butcher any of that came from wants beating with a pork chop.

As a Scottish person I’m screaming what you doing? I’ve never had a red pudding which is my favourite in small pieces. You take the plastic off then slightly score down on side and dip in batter then deep fry all puddings should be done this way.🤨🤨. Still loves yous.xx

Also that’s not a proper red pudding should have the same texture as white pudding. That’s a cheap sausage real red pudding has oats.

White pudding I think traditionally is Irish and made from the white plasma in blood. Had it in Ireland and was very nice just very much more spiced in flavour than black pudding but tasty.please would you consider a tripe recipe or at least do a taste test and try it cold with salt vinegar and white pepper. I used to love it as a kid like that but am a squid lover as adult I think the trick is get it as fresh as possible. Xx
