Sharon Tate was born on January 24, 1943, in Dallas. She had several key roles that led to her success on the small screen, particularly in the television series The Beverly Hillbillies. Her work in the film Eye of the Devil in 1965 was significant in Tate's life for two reasons: It was her first vital role in a feature film. It was shortly after making it that she met movie director Roman Polanski, who would eventually become her husband. On August 9, 1969, while eight and a half months pregnant with Polanski's child, Tate was murdered by a group run by Charles Manson.
Diet:
According to Debra Tate, Sharon's favorite foods was a hamburger form Dolores' Restaurant in Los Angeles. Sharon's other favorite restaurants in LA were Hamburger Hamlet and El Coyote. El Coyote became famous for a dish they served for one month out of the year. "Blue Corn Tortillas," and yes, the corn is blue. Sharon loved that dish!
Sharon loved the hamburgers at Dolores' Restaurant, and she would order it with chili inside, and the chili would drip down her arms, and Sharon would like her arms as she ate. It was always the first place she went to after returning home from Europe.
El Coyote Café on Beverly Boulevard has been serving Mexican entrees since 1931. On Friday, August 8, 1969, Jay Sebring made an 8 o'clock dinner reservation for Abigail Folger, Wojciech Frykowski, Sharon Tate, and himself. After waiting 15 minutes in the bar, the four were seated and unknowingly ate their last meals, leaving at around 9:45 pm, heading back to Cielo Drive. Fifty years since the Manson murders, El Coyote remains a hot spot for locals, including many celebrities, and tourists who come to eat on California inspired Mexican food.
Quentin Tarantino's film, Once Upon a Time…in Hollywood, which has a Manson Family storyline, filmed at El Coyote for when Tate, played by Margot Robbie, and her friends go out to dinner.
Sharon also loved boiled spinach with oil, lemon, vinegar, bacon, and seasoned rosemary, oregano, and sage. She drank tonic water with lemon and avoided sweets, potatoes, and bread.

In Roman Polanski’s auto-biography, he said that Sharon “cooked like a dream” and had learned delicious Southern recipes from her Mother, Doris. He said that Sharon would often cook for their friends. However, it sounds like she was very disciplined and controlled, regarding her meal choices and portions.

Nutrition labels didn't appear until the 1990s, so Tate's notions about sugar content/calories in tonic water may not have been accurate. Plus, everyone back then smoked - nicotine is an appetite suppressant.

My mom and aunt went to junior high and high school with her in Richland, WA. My aunt was in the Miss Richland pageant with her when she won Miss Richland. She was very sweet and very popular. She HAD to stay at 111 because cameras add 10 pounds to your body, therefore, she was forced to remain very slim. That's what I've heard when I tried to be a model in my teens, that I had to lose 20 pounds even though I was 120 or less because they told me the camera adds ten pounds to your appearance.

I was just watching Once Upon a Time in Hollywood and I wondered to myself, 'What did Sharon Tate eat?' So here I am. It sounds like most of the time she ate a lot of veggies w/ herbs and relatively healthy dishes. Hamburgers and Mexican food were probably on her splurge days. When I'm in LA again, I definitely gotta check out El Coyote.

Who doesn't love a good ole hamburger and fries? Diets have certainly changed over the years and for me it's all or nothing but I see a lot of celebrities are embracing the keto Atkins style diet. Moderation is probably the best diet out there but easier said than done. Sharon probably had a lot of willpower since she was always in the publics eye. Gorgeous woman inside and out

Her diet is pretty keto when she wants to watch weight. A lot of people who struggle with processed food addiction do really well healing on keto. I personally found it works for me best, but it's like Sharon's. Low carb veggies and meats, sometimes berries. Sparkling water and green tea. Not powders or some bars. I eat a burger sometimes too. I actually weight 110 lbs in the am at 5'6.5.

It mattered little to Roman how she died .it just meant she was gone forever he said how heartbreaking for him to lose his mother in pregnancy and then his wife. He went on to have a long marriage with 2 beautiful children. He named his son Elvis. It was thoughtful that he named his 1st son after Sharon's dad Paul and middle name Richard for his father. So much tragedy in Roman's life. His movies are a reflection of it all. Maybe he would of had many many years with Sharon. She adored him regardless of what Hollywood claimed.

There are a lot of plain tonic waters or unsweetened tonic waters available too. I remember years ago when my father used to buy tonic water for mixed drinks and none of them were sweetened. It's like a lot of things that manufacturers feel they have to add sugar to!

I wonder if Tate confused sparkling or seltzer water with tonic water. The former are calorie-free. She certainly would have known about calories back then, as did I, a pre-teen, partly cause of my big sister who was dieting.

She drank the tonic water for energy because of the sugar. Her smoking killed her appetite and very slim stars were in demand even the men. Great video!

PLEASE Brigitte Bardot! 😍 Unfortunately the first Tonic Waters had a high quinine content and indeed a lot of sugar, everything was sugared in the sixties, diets was not so in common and Sharon had no problem with gaining wait at all, her metabolism was great! She loved Pineapple Upside Down cakes and made it herself and she ate a lot of vegetables and fruits, like all the Hollywood girls did back than. Years ago there was a lot more informations about her online, a lot pages or websites are already gone. She drunk a lot water, soda or mineral water was very popular too! I read a lot about her years ago! But your video is anyway great! 💖💖💖🙂

Great video! However I believe Sharon was only 5 foot 4. Which would make more sense for her to weigh 111 pounds. I remember reading in a book I have on the murders that she was that height. Love your videos and this was super interesting. I liked that she did diet but also seemed to just enjoy herself and eat burgers and fries to. She is missed

She started as a model, you guys, so that's why she had to stay slender. She also smoked, which is apt to keep you ten pounds lighter than you would be otherwise. She had to watch what she ate, but she also came from parents that were slender when they were her age, as can be seen in their pictures.

Well, they had actual sugar instead of high fructose corn syrup. It’s like the addictive chemicals big tobacco put in their cigarettes. Devastating health consequences suffered by the customers while these fuckers rake in profits. Regular sugar isn’t nearly as fattening nor as disruptive.

There were a couple sugar free diet soft drinks even back in those days, and some dieters carried around saccharine tablets to put in their tea and coffee when they ate out.

I don't think she was naturally that thin. In the early 60's before being really thin was a trend, she was more buxom, so she did clearly diet to fit in with fashion at the time.

My mom told me that my great grandmother was her nutritionist. She and others in my family were pioneers in the health food industry in LA. Supposedly some practices they'd encourage were kinda sketchy (by today's standards) like giving thyroid hormone to people without hypothyroidism for weight loss, and Gamma globulin shots.
