When doing the cover & uncover test, wouldn’t the findings be a Phoria instead of Tropia?

Hi Yaz Morales! This is a great question. Thanks for asking. The cover/uncover test detects a tropia. With the cover/uncover test we are checking for a manifest deviation. The alternate cover (or cross cover) test detects a phoria. In the alternate cover test we are breaking fusion and checking for a latent deviation.
