Am going through an absolutely horrid time in my life at the moment with a multitude of things, so I have been waiting for this video since you posted your helmet cam cross country footage. I am ridiculously happy for you and Sharpie to get that win on the board. It's so well-deserved. It really has given me a much needed boost.

Congratulations. It is so pleasing to see a kind rider sitting quietly, using discreet aids. Lovely hands. A pleasure to watch a kind rider and willing horse. Beautiful to watch.

IK I'm gonna get hate for this but I don't care, these poor horses having such tight reins and having the bit pulled. She shouldn't be using a bit in the first place. Beautiful horse but poor thing getting pulled around with that bit 🥺🥺🤦🏻♀🤦🏻♀

It is hard to balance the right amount of relaxation and energy needed to maintain the right amount impulsion so he keeps stepping under more. You may want to put random ground pole combinations down when practicing tests at home to reinforce impulsion and encourage more energy from behind. He is taking advantage of the opportunity to be lazy and not put in more effort to step under and carry more weight with the hind end. In a lot of places he isn't even stepping in the same hoof print as the forelegs made. Idk if that is a conformation thing, slight soreness or fatigue on his part, or if he is just being like the smart kid in class showing off and not giving his all and feeling like he is getting away with something. Lol. But the ground poles will reinforce the mentality that ground work still requires hind end engagement more than he is currently willing to give. Other than that, this test is absolutely phenomenal! I am a huge fan and am learning such from you two!! 💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗TY!

He’s done ground poles for 6 years, Lol. Not every horse is the same and this is his weakness. He’s just not naturally built that way, so I make up for it elsewhere.

@@WallaceEventing I agree with you Elisa. You don't need to listen to people. They think they know it all. But you know how to train all your horses. The way you want Elisa. You ben trianing horses for long time Elisa.

@@leeangus1839 Hey Lee, it is fine to be a loyal fan, but don't assume I think I "know it all". I know Elisa is a VERY capable trainer, and when I say that I am well aware that it is a HUGE understatement. What I didn't do was ASSUME....that Elisa knows it all...nor those who watch these videos....because Elisa isn't the only one here who I was speaking to. Being that she is quite experienced, I am sure she realized that the above comments weren't actually to teach her...but possibly remind her, if needed...and actually was meant to teach those willing to learn, even though I seemed to be addressing her personally. I am glad Elisa has a solid fan base. She has more than earned it and deserves it. I have seen and worked with MANY trainers in my time, and VERY FEW have her skillset. They are capable and skilled, but not many can hold a candle to her because she is so well rounded. I assume she laughed because this adorable guy has been working on this issue for some time, and she wishes it was as easy as just adding ground poles to cha ge his focus in order to get him to use himself more. Obviously, if this is the ONLY thing I could comment about her ride and find as a fault....she is doing a LOT right. As she said, every horse is different, so there may be riders who see these comments and decide to try the ground poles and get good results. Not all the viewers are eventers and dressage riders sometimes get narrowly focused and may forget ground poles are really helpful at times to reinforce leg so as to be able to create more impulsion. 😀 If she has time and inclination, maybe she would be willing to talk about this common issue and some of the methods she has used which has worked for the different horses she has trained. 👍✌️
