Great introduction HAHA! I can buy one! About the motor, recently I designed a generic motor driver based upon a voltage regulator and a boost converter (very, very stable) with noise suppression circuit. Benefits of this that you can use any (new) quality motor you like so don't need to hunt for a replacement (that will fail again over time). Second benefit is that can put the motor driver at the back of the unit and drill small hole to be able to adjust the speed without taking the unit apart again. This can be handy when you replaced the belts (mostly not original) and stretch a little (by using it) over time so speed changes a little. The only thing you have to do is using a small screwdriver to adjust the speed. It looks like a real quality machine, cannot wait to buy it! Thanks for the video.

I had this as a kid and yesterday I took delivery of another one. Absolutely love it brings back all those 80s memories. Really nice set if you get one that's had the service work done they need.

This is one of the best BOOMBOXES ever made. VU meters are superb. Love how you got the classic In the air tonight on there briefly. That indeed was when pop music was great. And was probably played on this BOOMBOX by somebody. Saw this on Ebay for £160.00 tempted to get it. Been looking for this or the 9090 for a while.

@@DarrensVlog You can say that again. Them and the JVC RC M70/90. You need a second morgage to get them in full working order these days. The SHARP GF 9191 is a really nice sounding box. Thats STILL affordable. Nice round warm sound.

I have a similar one that needs a belt replacement and is also chewing the tape. Other than this is working well. Locking forward to fix it but i don’t know any repair shop in uk. Can anyone recommend a repair place. Thanks!

thats a great boombox you got there really like the silver rings around the speakers. I also have a Philips 8614 that work great super bass in that Philips machine.Never done anything to it just cleaning.Why dont you like the Philips players? :-)

Thank you, philips later players cheap nasty plastic mech with gears that go brittle. Very weedy sounding too. I did do up a philips le-cube which is on my channel
