Could you please re-do this video using PD 365? The layout is now different in 365 and the keys you are hitting no longer appear there. In particular, how do you change the duration of the pictures in the slideshow in 365? Thank you.

Hi Jim, You saved me yet again!!!! I'm working on a manual slide show, trying to sort of duplicate a Shutterfly album to the big screen. I have areas where I'm using a photo, color board and title with some collage designer stuff in between. Then I was attempting to put transitions in, what a mess! I watched this tutorial and low and behold you made the task so much easier. Once again THANK YOU!!!!! Michele

Need help on how to make your photo's scroll across - against a color board smoothly in a slideshow manually. Any suggestions on one of your videos???

Can you describe this in more detail. Is the color board the entire background? Do the photos change size? What is the movement? How many photos do you have in mind? Is there more than one on the screen at the same time? --Jim

@@SharperTurtle I want to make my photos move from left to right like they are on a conveyor belt. The background being the belt. Doesn’t matter about the background I can do that I just can’t figure out how to make them slide across with a 2 inch gap between them. The pics would be about 3x4 or so.
@raylenecline9292

And yes you would see probably almost 3 at a time. But only partially pic 1 and 3 or so

Thanks for the additional information. You can accomplish this by using a keyframe position value to move each picture across the screen. You set the parameters on one picture and then copy them to the other pictures. Then you stagger the pictures on multiple tracks. I'll develop a tutorial on this process for you and others. --Jim

what version power director are u using?
@SharperTurtle
@SharperTurtle 2 жыл бұрын
This is an older tutorial created using PD 16. If you look on the lower right of the initial screen you will see the version used for any particular tutorial (in the last 4 years). The interface changes over time. If the differences are huge, let me know and I'll put an updated tutorial version on my work list. --Jim

@@SharperTurtle So I figured out how to do it using keyframes. However, I was only able to do it using one of the motion templates that inserts keyframes at default presets. I was not able to insert keyframes at my own choosing. Is this because I haven't paid for an upgraded version of the software?

I believe most versions allow you to keyframe objects. See if this video helps. kzbin.info/www/bejne/mafTl2WgjpWWrtU --Jim

Hi Jim, I have a question. How do you change the black background on the pictures to blur? So you can't see the black bars on the sides...Thanks!!!
@SharperTurtle
@SharperTurtle 6 жыл бұрын
I'm trying to figure out what you are asking. I'm assuming you are talking about a situation where the project is 16x9 but the images you are using don't fill the screen. Is that what you have in mind? If the images of the slideshow are smaller than the 16x9 frame, the default behind them will be black. But you can put the entire slideshow on track 2 and place anything you want behind it on track 1. You could put any 16x9 image (or an image cropped to 16x9) that was blurred on track 1 and that is what you would see outside the smaller images when they were on the screen. Is that what you are thinking about? I could create a tutorial about that if it helps address the issue you are talking about. If I'm not understanding the situation correctly, please give me some additional information. Thanks! --Jim

I realize that even in my video clips I cannot get sound. What is it that I must do to get sound
@SharperTurtle
@SharperTurtle 5 жыл бұрын
Joseph, I'm having a difficult time helping you figure this out with such a small bit of information about your dilemma. Do you hear sound any time in any way within PowerDirector. If you drag a video clip into your media room that has video and sound and click on it, does it play audio? Do you have other applications that use sound that play audio correctly on your PC? It will be a bit of trial and error to isolate the issue. --Jim

Jim, can you control the length of the transitions? Thanks! Great show!
@SharperTurtle
@SharperTurtle 6 жыл бұрын
Bill, Yes. You can highlight the transition by clicking on it. Then you will see a duration button above the timeline. You can click on it and change the value in frames and seconds. If you want to change the default length for all transitions. Click on the gear at the top. That will take you to the preferences menu. Click on the editing category on the left side. Near the bottom on the left you will see a setting for transition length. You can drag across it and change the number or use the up and down buttons to modify it. --Jim

@@SharperTurtle .....Been one "bang" up summer here Jim. Will try to make this brief. Crashed my Typhoon drone, it survived but banged the hidef 1920x1080p camera, next video - weeks later, it flew again, fuzzy, eractic video, but I didn't relate it to the camera, thought my computer couldn't process it fast enough. Got help on line, advised a GeForce 50 Ti....no help. He was surprised, said it was the camera's fault (he didn't know it got banged up). I said No Way. Bought a new 4k drone, worse results, video looked electrified. That made me think for sure it wasn't the other drone's camera. I was wrong. What I didn't relate was that this new camera was shooting at 4k. So that made me think it wasn't the old camera. Because it was outputting wild looking video too. So how did I find out the truth? I bought a $1,600 loaded, refurbished HP Z800. Beautiful, flawless video from 4k. So he was right. It was the camera on the old drone's fault. I could've just bought a used camera. Live & learn.

Bill, As a fellow Typhoon owner, I'm saddened by the fact that you experienced a crash and had the expense of new equipment. I'm glad you are up and running again and have a great setup. And can get great results. Hope you have smooth sailing (uh … flying) for a long time. --Jim

Hi Jim, just seen this video! thanks a lot! But how do you mix photos that are from a different size? like 16:9, 4:3, portrait photos etc. Do you have a video or proposal ?
@SharperTurtle
@SharperTurtle 3 жыл бұрын
You have several options. You can put a color board on a track behind the image(s) so you won't have a black area if they don't fill the screen. Or you can drag any of the images to the timeline (one at a time) and click on the crop icon above the timeline. That will allow you to crop the image to fit the screen resolution. It will save a copy of the image in the media room at the resolution you designate. If you want everything 16:9 landscape, you can achieve this effect. Or you can crop at an aspect ratio of your choice. --Jim

Thx for getting back to me. I just done it in timeline mode. I added 15 photos to the second video track line. The photos dont fill the screen so I then added my logo on the 3rd video track line as well as some txt and made them fit either side of the photos. I then thought to get rid of the black areas behind i would add a background which i put on the 1st video track line. I then added the transitions between the photos. I went through a load until i found some i liked. They were the "Rotation clockwise " type transitions in the Geometric choices.. It worked fine. Except the background turns with the photos. I just wanted the background to stay still. I tried various things but it still turned with the photos. facebook.com/IanAndersonsFishingAdventures/videos/2232782346732406/ thats what i went with if it plays. as i got fed up trying to get background to stay still. Cheers

Hi, your tutorials of PowerDirector have helped me in deciding to buy the program. I am working on turning a basic powerpoint slide into a video like this with music and voiceover. My question: Can you add music AND voiceover to this type of presentation? I would like the music to be softer when the voiceover is happening. If this is possible, I plan to buy the program. Thank you!
