Күн бұрын

Hey fellow surf addicts, so we've finally gotten around to review the Sharpeye Inferno 72 by Marcio Zouvi. Sharpeye has really blown up in the last year since Taj Burrow's Stab in the dark, choosing it as the best everyday shortboard as well as Kale Brocolli, choosing it as his favourite shortboard in his own twist on the stab in the dark, adding urbnsurf as one of the stomping grounds for testing. Even though this isn't exactly my type of board/ favourtie board, many of my friends are saying it's the best board they've ever ridden. One thing I can say, out of all the thruster boards I've ridden, The Inferno 72 has the best get up and go speed out of any thruster design compared to it.

Thanks mate, appreciate it. It’s a great board for the everyday beach conditions.

Agree with you, some sessions felt amazing and others the board felt completely off for me. Did not go well on the backside either. Was about to sell it but gave it another solid go and I'm glad I did stick with it, the board has grown on me a lot since i figured out the kinks. Think the problem for me was to get used to the aggressive double concave into to the single. Works best in chest to overhead walled up pointbreaks/reefs and beachies imo.

Appreciate the feedback mate, it definitely didn’t feel as good going backside, frontside felt a lot more consistent and in control. I may do a comparison between the Driver 2.0 and The Inferno 72 before I sell the Sharpeye.

@@jakesboardreviews Also ,I expected it to be more user friendly. Think foot placement especially on backhand is crucial. Enjoy the the I72 now but it took a while to fall in love with it. I have had a driver too and was really struggling with it. Got rid of it pretty fast and bought a CI Fever instead. One of the best performance boards i`ve had.

@@messono I agree with you mate. I rode the Fever but found it worked best as the waves got bigger. Wasn't my favourite board. I liked the Inferno 72 and the Driver 2.0 a lot better. Surfing's a funny thing in that regard sometimes, it's just preference.

Hey jake! nice review mate. How would you compare this board against the JS Xero Gravity?
@jakesboardreviews
@jakesboardreviews 8 ай бұрын
Hey mate, thanks for the support. The Xero Gravity is better in slightly bigger waves and more steeper/ hollow waves, whilst the Sharpeye Inferno 72, is more suited for those 2-4 ft average and less critical days if that helps 👍

Hey dude how did u find this board went vs your JS xero?
@jakesboardreviews
@jakesboardreviews 2 жыл бұрын
Hey mate, I would say the Inferno 72 was slightly more electric and had better get up and go speed where the Xero, allowed me to do more progressive manoeuvres. Also in the tube, I found the Xero held way better than the Inferno 72. Both boards work best in 2-3.5 ft if that helps 👍

what’s your height and weight for comparison?

Hey mate, I’m around 5’11 and weigh 65 kg’s. If I bought this board again I would either grab the stock 5’8 at 26.60L or the stock 5’10 at 28L. If you’re not sure what size to choose, go the bigger size.
