Sir the same question is mentioned in carruthers on page number 341. I think it's a simple concept of steric hindrance. As - DIPT attack fro Si face so in this particular example it will be below the plane, and we can show the stereochemistry at allylic carbon that the OH being a bulky group it has to be above the plane as it can cause some steric repulsion to incoming oxygen if it is placed (-OH) below the plane.
