My feeling exactly. My leather couch is nearly a decade old, and it is a very dark brown. The brown has gone slightly lighter over a period of years, but it hasn't stained at all. It still looks fine. This is with three teenager girls (adults now) several dogs, cats, and two adults plus all of guests, family and friends we had in that time. The leather still looks fine, the only thing wrong with it is the springs are busted on one side, so people 'sink' into the couch. However, it is still solid. I wouldn't trust DFS with a barge-pole though, I'd get (and have gotten) a better deal elsewhere:)

I think that's the point of him looking for a refund, given it apparently not being fit for the purpose of sitting down. You hear these stories about DFS and other sofa sales places making up ridiculous reasons not to give money back, up to, and including "oh well you're not meant to sit on it".
