My working background is in Radio and TV, so I wasn't shocked to learn that corporations feed pre-recorded short segments to the news departments in an effort to get out their message, which is basically advertising. It varied from a video of your local politician taking a tour of a hospital for children, to the latest weapons being procured by the military. Newspapers have long held opinions which they displayed on their op-ed pages where they'd endorse or eviscerate politicians and public works projects. Media outlets often have a leaning toward one side or the other... and Ms. Attkisson was _surprised?_
