This was an interview, that made me realize what a polished and poised gentleman Shashi Kapoor was. Despite his annoyance at the personal questions being asked, never once did Mr Kapoor, displayed his anger or annoyance at that interviewer. The interviewer made me feel more embarrassed than Shashi Kapoor probably felt through out the whole interview.

This interview has revealed so much of Late Shashi Kapoor. The entire interview is fine but the most important and beautiful part of this interview in my eyes was not allowing the interwier to ask him personal questions. The lady was refused 2 or 3 times in a very civilized manner. I have found him boisterous but obviously in impeccable manners. He literally tried his luck and obviously wanted to steel the qualities of Raj Kapoor but couldn't make a block buster movie. All of his 5 productions were bombed (his expressions) very badly. In acting he was ok. Which he had also acknowledged bravely. This is the second most important and beautiful part of this interview. RIP 13 January 2024 Dublin, Ireland 🇮🇪

Shashiji is a gem, his wife was the luckiest woman who ever lived, a loyal, handsome, name, fame, I'm sure thousands of women would have thrown them selves at him, but even many years after her death, he stayed loyal to her, spoke his unconditional love for her. Then we have in millions, low lives, with nothing, who has good wives, who gave them status, recognitions, go behind their back & stray with every cheap, pr**titues they can hold off.

He knew her since he was 16, his wife his Childhood love and he got to marry her, but when she died in 1984, a lot him died too, he wasn't same any more. Wasn't he so different? In such a big industry, where gossip was so common, he had no rumour about fighting with any actor, no extramarital affairs, simply a hard-working family man. He belonged to the Kapoor family but was not boisterous like the others. Jennifer was the only love of his life, and after she passed, he decided not to marry, and take care of their children, who reminded him of her. Such a beautiful man, in and out. I wish the industry could've recognised his talent as an actor and filmmaker in a better way. And this interviewer, gosh, she should've been better...

The most intellectual of all Kapoors, also the most international. He acted in a number of British productions, and was closely associated with the Kendalls in their theatre productions. Also he produced some really interesting and meaningful films such as Junoon, 36 Chowringhee Lane, Kalyug, and Utsav. He once said in an interview that he acted in commercial films so that he could earn enough money to produce serious films. He was very different from the rest of the Kapoors. In fact, he was much like Prithviraj Kapoor in his love for the theatre. He was not loud and boisterous like the other Kapoors. He was introspective, soft-spoken and a well-read man. He had absolutely no arrogance and was always well-mannered. He was a disciple of serious cinema and admired Chaplin and Ingmar Bergman. If today anyone asks Kareena Kapoor about Ingmar Bergman, she will be like "Ingmar who?" I wish Kareena had inherited some of Shashi Kapoor's genes.
