Dear wonderful people; what is the base instrument ‘pad’ underneath the two main instruments? Almost sounds like a keyboard droning - the same chord / notes which is the foundation- is it just the two gentlemen or is there another music source playing as background support? Its called a tanpura. Its a stringed drone instrument playing the root note and the same note one octave higher and a fifth interval note. Interval notes can vary according to the raga.
