We tuned in to radio platforms and we listen and dance to foreign songs. We promote songs that is not loved in their respective countries and we make them big here in Ghana. There is this guy who used to be in my office. You will see him always playing foreign songs. I once asked him, where is love for Ghana music. Then he said, I don't know. I quickly asked him to change to any of our local songs and he did. I advised him that he can play the other songs in his room and cultivate the habit of playing our songs in public. True talk....Big Ups to Shatta. Personally I have always maintained that Ghana needs to limit the broadcast companies on playing foreign music rather they should promote local content. This Nigeria did amongst other things which led to the boom in the Nigerian music industry. Nigeria also is known for a specific genre of music and that's afro beat.
