Shattered Space - What Can Players Expect: Starfield Essentials

Here are my thoughts. One of the first things Andreja says in the SS trailer is "There is no record of a star station in this orbit". So the location is known. We see a gas giant (no rings) and we see at least one moon orbiting the gas giant. We also see a gas giant (dark orange, no rings) and at least one moon orbiting the gas giant later in the trailer when we are on Va'ruun'kai. This all implies that while the location is known, the star station and Va'ruun'kai have been "hidden" somehow. We see a malfunctioning device suspended by chains on the star station. A cloaking device? Has the device failed and somehow "shattered space"? Revealing the star station and Va'runn'kai? And also released the "Vortex Horror"? It's plausible. If true, then the most likely location for the gas giant would be Kazarah in the Nirah System. And the one moon we see in the trailer orbiting the gas giant is Ka'zaal. Va'ruun'kai would be the second moon of Kazarah. Hidden all this time. Which would all make sense from a lore perspective relative to what we know went on on Ka'zaal with the artifacts and the Va'ruun. Just my two cents. It's fun to speculate.

Let me mark that on the map for you." Or, says, "Hey. Go here and there's a wormhole. It will take you to Va'runn'kai". If it goes down like that I'm going to be very disappointed.

With the moon Ka'zaal, the Nirah system seems like at least in the past, it was settled by House Va'ruun. But if so, why are all the planets in Serpentis flooded with Zealots? Maybe they had both systems. I mean, Serpentis is very on the nose for a Va'ruun system name.

That much sleep *isn't* a sign of weakness no matter what Andreja says! Thanks for the summary of the interview, I've not had a chance to catch up with any of the news from Gamescom. Starfield is a game of such scope that it absolutely has room for the more open-ended exploration and more geographically and narratively focused storytelling. I'm curious what is the overall size of the handcrafted area around the city; comparable to eg the area of the Far Harbor expansion for Fallout 4, or larger, like the entire Commonwealth area? I suppose I'll need to be patient to find out, but it's not going to stop me from speculating!

I'm confused did we or did we not go into the STARFIELD to explore planets not stay on one,I don't care about a SKYRIM experience I'll be happy to play the dlc but I can't figure out what some players ideas of what this games supposed to be, to me it's awesome I wouldn't change exploreation just improve it with mods that's all

You are in a very small minority. People who grew up with the games that came before are the ones that are saying the fragmented exploration of Starfield is bad. They are about 80% of the player base. Then there is about 15% more who done care and then the 5% that think it's great. The ones who mod the game are in the 80% and that is where the longevity of the game comes from. Bethesda will always think of them first.

I kind of get the complaints, tbh. Once you visited a boneyard 4 or 5 times why bother anymore? They're all the same. I'd like to see every time you go exploring there is a 1 or 2% chance you're gonna find something. You ask your companions and they say oh, take that to such and such person for analysis. Turns out its something special that reveals a tiny fraction of the lore that you previously didn't know. And there is probably more out there. Something like that. Give exploration some juice. That's all.

I'm excited. I didn't _hate_ Starfield like some did to begin with, but Bethesda base games always kinda suck, especially on release and without mods. But I have a weakness for their DLC.
