Smash a glass phone screen protector for safety glass

That works great for non-safety or tempered glass. Microscope slide covers work well too. It just doesn't replicate the glass used in vehicles since about 1950.

Using the sand looks like a much cheaper way than brand-name sparkles. Going to give it a try.

Oh for sure. You can get about 3 giant jars of the white sand for one tiny jar of sparkles. Great! Let me know if you have any questions.

This would work great for a car in a post apocalyptic diorama.

Thanks for the video, this is a cool trick. I am mostly working is a smaller scale than you, Diecast1/64 and war gaming 1/72 models, but much of this type of stuff can work in many scales. Hope to see more videos from you soon.

For normal glass you can try Microscope glass cover slides ( real glass ! ). They only work on small flat areas and if you cover the glass with clear tape you can control the breakage and not have pieces falling out. The slides work the best when sandwiched between plastic or P/E since it's real glass and glue won't stick. A little experimenting with them and the look is real ! The slides work great for gauge faces also !

@@BGsModelWorkshop I saw it! I left a comment but KZbin hid it for whatever reason. I really appreciate the shout-out and I'm glad it helped. You can find the sand in the wedding isle at HL by the way.

@@SCM223 more than welcome! I'll see if the comment was flagged for some reason. Ah ha!! The wedding aisle!! Haven't needed to walk down that one for ten years! 😁

did you try it with micro ballons?
@SCM2238 ай бұрын
Yes. I think they were too light and too small. They clumped really bad and when I could get them to spread out it was too opaque. But they may work if you're more patient than me haha!
