The problem is she is in love with him. Its how she see her self thats problem. She doesn't think she good enough for him because of her character flaws. She thinks her character flaws are bad for him. However she hears him say that she challenges him to try new things. This makes him a better person and makes him grow. That he loves her because of this. So she now can't hide behind the notion that she bad for him cause thats not the case. She thinks she bad for him because of her character flaws. Yet if you look at their relationship over course of three seasons youll notice that despite his character flaws he too has had a profound effect on her. She is less selfish especially with shawn. She is more responsible and less flaky. Her life isn't as much of mess as it was. This was because of shaun. He made her a better person. I think she going to realize that. When she does she going to want to be with him.

As I’ve said before, I think she does love him. In fact, I think that’s why she said they couldn’t be together. It’s not even that she doesn’t want to hurt him, she doesn’t want to fail him. She doesn’t want to even try because she doesn’t want to run the risk. That’s my take anyways. I was in love with a girl for several years that didn’t feel the same about me, this doesn’t feel like that to me. And there’s such irony when he says he doesn’t make her more because he totally does! This is why I still want them to work out, they better each other. Lea makes Shaun more outgoing and Shaun could make Lea more structured, stable, reliable. They have to meet each other in the middle to give one what the other’s missing. This story arc is problematic at best and toxic at worst....what should have happened is them working towards a friendship again after both of them saying horrible things to each other....because this sends a message that Lea as a woman doesn't know what is good for her. That Shaun as a man can be pushy and verbally abusive towards her but since he said nice things about her when he didn't know she was listening all should be forgiven. That is TOXIC so what happens the next time Lea does something Shaun doesn't like she should just shut her mouth and take whatever verbal abuse he wants to hurl at her but give it a free days and all can be forgiven 🤷🏾‍♀️. This is not the message that this show should be sending the your incapable of love unless it is with me message that is a thing an abuser says. 'The Good Doctor' should be better than this🤦🏾‍♀️

An earthquake happened and Shaun had to work on saving a victim. You don't know what's going to happen next between Lea and Shaun. No one said he should be forgiven or that Lea should take whatever abuse she took from him and no one said she's incapable of being loved. Well, he did say "no one likes you" but I think he said it because he was angry and drunk, nothing to do with "no one but me can love you." What he said to the victim sound very sincere and he didn't know Lea was listening. If he did know she was listening, then I might see your point. Seriously, I think you're taking this very, very personally.

That's the most beautiful love confession I've ever seen or heard especially bc of Shaun's autism. It's heart wrenching bc of Shaun's very deep hopelessness. Maybe he thinks here that he lost the love of Lea and the possibility that she can be his girlfriend. But despite of that hopelessnes he doesn't want to move on bc he can't stop loving her. I loved the reactions of Lea's wich were written all over on her beautiful face. But I wonder why didn't she talk to him on radio, why didn't she return his love declaration? @@joshz2491 Yes, probably you're right. Maybe after Shaun's harsh rounding on she thought, that she lost his affection, his love. Then she was speechless and in tears. Probably during Shaun's love statement, she realized that was not the case. She understood how deep is Shaun's love towards her, how much she means to him, and I think the key sentence was that "Lea makes me more". I think she deliberately repeated this sentenced to Shaun. With that, she indicated to Shaun, that she's ready to be with him and she will be his girlfriend. The emotional effect could be enormous. That probably needed time to process. I can imagine that she couldn't say a word then.

Meekee001 exactly the two most important things she knows about Shaun’s autism are that he doesn’t lie and when he shows emotion it is always with his heart on his sleeve. His drunken anger a few episodes before was extremely harsh but I think behind the anger he was trying to make her understand that he is fully aware of all her flaws and insecurities and doesn’t need to be protected from them. It clicks for her when she hears him assume that he doesn’t make her more, that it was a mistake to push him away out of fear of failing as his girlfriend,, so she makes sure to apologize in a much more meaningful way by saying how blind she was and letting Shaun know that he does in fact make her more. The last few episodes of season 3 were so layered for both Shaun and Lea,❤️ It’s very realistic writing that completely goes over the head of too many viewers.

The more you watch this scene, the more you realize that Shaun's not exactly confessing his feelings with the hope that Lea would eventually reciprocate them, but more like he's confessing that he's afraid he'll lose the man he has become when with her...more outgoing, more of a risk taker, more open to new things that he would not have had the will to pursue on his own, like falling in love. And he's afraid of who he might become without her in his life, but eventually beginning to understand and accept that he may have no choice but to cross that bridge and to find out....only for Lea to be on the other end listening to him pouring his heart out... Call me crazy for thinking that way, but feel free to add onto what I've written. Nevertheless, this was one hell of an intense episode, can't wait for the finale...

@@elizabethh776 true but u can't force Leah to feel the same either, if Shaun wà just a regular guy his feelings are valid but Leah knew how he felt from the first time that he still loved her even Morgan knew and she's not even in that scene 😅 Carly knew everyone knew how Shaun felt and still felt but Leah should have left Shaun no hanging out or anything like glasman said it would give him hope she didn't though Leah needs to get herself straight first before anything talk to a therapist Claire does she knows she has issues but Leah doesn't she knows she has issues but instead of trying to better herself she just continues it and makes Shaun feel as though being him is a burden if they were together don't give him false hope if u have no intention of loving him .

Honestly, if Sean is only interested in using romantic relationships “to prove he can be like any other person” he doesn’t deserve them. I think he’s genuinely attached to Lea, but he also accepts she doesn’t return his romantic feelings (beyond playful flirting). That shows great character in him. That despite his disappointment, he appreciated what Lea brought into his life.

It's too bad about the utter takeover of streaming network television and the accolades, the press, and the awards that they have acquired. I'm sure they are well-deserved, but it drowns out exceptional network shows like "The Good Doctor" . And they don't get the recognition and the awards they so richly deserve. Especially for the acting of Paige Spara and Freddie Highmore. Those two should be awash in awards. And the chemistry between them is absolutely over the moon!!!

Thats life, we meet people that changes us but does not mean they are the one. Hard to let go sometimes but when you do and find another person that loves you more or the same as you love them, you wont regret it. But i understand his character is based on not on WHAT IF, shawn is the type of person who is afraid to let go of good things thinking he wont achieve these feelings again with another person. My personal opinion is if give other girls a chance, dont get stuck on one that you already did your best with.

I do think Shaun was prepared to make that leap to find someone else, no matter how much it scared him. But because of Lea, he was more willing to take risks and try new things, and he was worried he might lose that confidence without Lea in his life. It just so happened that Lea was able to listen in on him expressing to Vera why he loved Lea and why he couldn't move on from her.

Thembi Chigwada i dont watch the show, only see the clips on here, but i’m bothered by the fact that Lea seems to love him but not in love with him and has told him such multiple times. why can’t that be enough? i dont like the fact the show writers seems intent on wearing her down to reverse that decision rather than respect it. they are putting Shaun’s feelings and his desire for her over what Lea is *actually* saying. In a real life scenario this wouldn’t be romantic it would be creepy af. I didn’t see anything terribly wrong with Shaun and Carly. (sorry for the word vomit in your comment)

Thembi Chigwada who was Carly again there has been no sign of her for two weeks and no public outcry about where Carly has disappeared to., There was a huge outcry when Lea was not in the episode following mutation with outrage towards the writers who thought Lea had been written off. It became to bad the writers made a statement saying Lea was returning to the show, that they were well aware of how the viewers felt about the Shaun and Carly storyline and asked for patience as all would be changing soon. I every survey of Who do you want Shaun to be win Lea won by more than 80%, if Lea saves Shaun's life next week her popularity will go sky high. Great acting by Freddie but even better acting by Paige as it was all non verbal where you could see every emotion on Lea's face and eyes full of tears as Lea listened to Shaun's beautiful words of why he loved Lea " I don't want to stop being the person I am with her, Lea makes me 'more' My heart melted when he said those words.
