It doesn't matter who's better. Both are amazing, only difference is Benji has more experience at the moment. Johnson will have his years to come and will be even bigger and better when Benji retires. Johnsons only younger which is the difference between the two

Benjis ball skills is better than any NRL player I have ever watched, his creativity and long balls, basically reinvented the no look inside pass and no look behind the back pass. The step Marshall possessed in his prime supersedes any step iv ever seen from Johnson. Johnsons blinding speed is the only thing he will have over Marshall period.

the difference between them i reckon is that when benji was in his prime he was the only person capable of doing what he could do on a league field, it was the first time everyone had seen those type of skills. Whereas now there is at least one of those types of players in pretty much every team, and johnson is good enough to rip teams to shreds even when he's expected to come up with the flashy plays and be manmarked by the opposition. So in my opinion, Johnson wins this one. Not taking anything away from benji cause he is a total legend and much invented flick passes haha

There's just not enough clips of Benji to make the call who is the best ever. Benji in his day would have created the same exciting fervour that Shaun does today and those lucky enough to follow Benjis games will always remember as the best the same way I will of Shaun. What I have seen of Benji makes him tops with me also. I am happy for both of them that they equally have their fans because their both deserving of them. Therefore the only way to decide an all time best would have to be the stats, tries scored, intercepts taken, metres run to make each try, taking down of opp wingers, assists made etc....the sheer number of compilations of Shaun shows he is special.

If I were a coach I would want the current benji in my team over Johnson. Johnson looks good and is more impressive with the ball but Benji knows how to win big games, he turns up when needed and has the experience and calmness that Johnson doesn't have. He is also a far better leader than Johnson. Of course if you want to look at footwork and speed Johnson is better, but overall even the current Benji has more to offer.
