What’s your point? people have been assholes to other people since the beginning of mankind. Prageru is well aware of what white people did or what men have done, no one denies it, or at least the majority of people. Why do people feel the need to only point fingers at white men, everybody has skeletons in their closets.
@akorn99432 жыл бұрын
@@D91Mart because Prager does exactly the opposite extreme, they don’t say it’s wrong to single out white men because it silly to only focus on one group, they instead imply it’s wrong to single out white men because they *are* the most virtuous gender/race. With their talk of “men were the ones who valiantly gave women the right to vote” or “white people were the first to free slaves” (which, regardless of their decision to credit an entire skin color for an action like that, is objectively untrue). What they do is not only just as egregious as singling out only white men, but it’s even worse because it simply denies history to make their audience feel good about themselves in a realllllly not the best way

Googling the quote gives several results, but all of them are the weird websites that exist to transcribe right-wing youtube videos. It's a spectacular achievement. Christina Hoff Sommers managed to come up with a quote so stupid that literally no feminist, even the bad ones that must surely exist, had ever said before, anywhere on the internet. Then this gets propagated it AS IF it's a mainstream idea to be debunked. Why make up such foolish things to pretend feminism says, when surely, if they're that bad, she could have just quoted them? Fact: "Men DID give women the right to vote". The way you libtards try to spin and manipulate language to make a point is ridiculous. It's because you have no point. Women weren't denied their right to vote because they didn't have that right. Men founded this country, built it, created the government, served in the military to defend it, and they run it. It would not exist without men. There was no reason for women to vote. The head of the household determined what was best for his family. The idea that women should just be given that right without the same sacrifices men have given is nonsense, and was an issue understood back then. There were even woman at that time that thought giving women the right to vote was a bad idea and not deserved. This world wasn't always the emasculated liberal cesspool it is now.

@@3sierra15 Except that the two transactions are entirely different. A business paying a salary is, effectively, buying your work. You give the company work, they give you money. You, buying a product, are paying the company for the product. You give a company money, they give you the product. Then, the company chooses where to put that money; most of it goes to Shareholders, the CEO, future development, marketing, e.t.c. The amount of money a business pays in a salary is a fact about the direct relationship between a worker and a business. The amount of money you pay for a product only involves the worker indirectly, and after the business receives it, you have no control over where it goes. This is an absurd false equivalence and entirely untruthful.

The reason why a lot of men (& people in general) don’t show too much emotion is because if they reveal their feelings to their counterparts those feelings & insecurities can be used against them. This can happen with women too.
@LAK_7703 жыл бұрын
@@DanielOrtiz-ym2sl the guy you’re responding to is a nut and a prick, and he’s obviously pushing his stupid link, but yeah Shaun does have a consistent left leaning bias that comes up constantly, and paired with his erudite delivery it’s a recipe for instances of sophistry. He’s very smart and argues well, but the biases and omissions and willful misinterpretations are there. For example, he’s talking about the wage gap as I type this - he astutely points out the hypocrisy in PragerU’s stupid presentation, but in the end actually makes no argument to refute the fact that the wage gap does not exist as it is popularly believed to exist. Prager U was essentially correct about it - contrary to the sound byte public figures are obligated to repeat, women are almost never paid less than men for the same work, and this has been uncontroversially clear for decades at this point. How much ‘choice’ people really have in their career/in general is a whole topic, but yes, women ‘choose’ less lucrative professions, work less hours and less years, and leave the workforce at a higher rate than men. Certainly gender roles and expectations are a factor, but there are two sides to this, where men suffer from pressures women don’t, and women suffer from challenges men don’t. But there is no reason to generally pin women’s less lucrative career choices on oppression or discouragement - women benefit from quotas, access to scholarships, and earmarked positions, and are greatly encouraged and facilitated in any field in which they’re underrepresented (STEM especially). The most parsimonious explanation by far is that women simply do not prefer to enter STEM or other high pressure, high paying professions. But the takeaway you get from this video is basically that arguments against the wage gap are inherently flawed, and it’s left at that. Prager U is just like anything else on the right - it’s a stopped clock, broken and almost always wrong, but correct when it happens to address one of the legitimate blind spots/flaws of the left. The wage gap thing is just one tiny example - he always lines up on the left re: any controversial topic, argues it well, but notably omits key information and emphasizes only what serves his point. In the Bell Cuve video for instance he does mental backflips to try and discredit IQ tests, painting IQ as some meaningless nebulous concept that only serves itself, rather than the extremely well validated and strongly predictive measure it is in reality. The conclusion that IQ is likely at least partly heritable couldn’t be less of a down-the-middle, likely, unavoidably obvious assumption, and Murray’s motivations were plainly not racist. But you wouldn’t get that from Shaun’s video, what you get is an assertion that it’s basically Nazi propaganda that only immoral idiots could ever entertain. Etc etc.

Because one cannot say the 6.6% is specifically due to just discrimination. Plus the 77 cents has always been misrepresented in how it was derived.
@KoningFelix15 жыл бұрын
Also gotta love them for putting 6.6 next to 77. Are they trying to make the point that women get paid just 0.066 cents for every 1 dollar a man makes? I'm confused.
@OsirisLord5 жыл бұрын
Women earn 6.6% less than men because they choose to go into lower earning careers. Okay now let me mentally shift gears here for a second. Women shouldn't go into high earning careers those are the domain of men, they should stay in traditional feminine jobs like nurse, teacher, or housewife. There we go thanks to the magic of cognitive dissonance I don't see a problem with this.
@DevinMacGregor5 жыл бұрын
@@KoningFelix1 Another issue is that this is not all women at every job. The 77 cent figure comes from an aggregate of taking all full time jobs women do and adding all those wages vs all full time jobs men do and adding all those wages. Since more women than men work part time and part time earnings are not included this lowers the bucket for total women earnings. More men work overtime than women which is full time pay still and thus the men's bucket gets larger. You then have women dropping out of the workforce to have children and return a decade or so later. This puts less in the women's bucket. These earnings are counted over several decades of work. It is like the misconception of if the Black population is 15% overall then every job should have 15% black employees but this is not how percentages work. Some have turned them into absolutes.

26:11 As an actual classical musician, I honestly find this graph insulting. Not only does it imply that the average artist/writer/musician/whatever now is less talented than they were in the past (which they aren't) it also implies people have lowered the qualifications needed to hire/commission/admit an artist/musician/whatthefuckever (which they haven't). When I've talked to my professors, they all mention that the '60s and '70s, which this graph points to standards flatlining at the bottom, were when musical standards were incredibly *high* in order to get through university-- and not because they had to learn older music, but because they had to learn and analyze the newer modernist and postmodernist music prevalent from the 1920s-50s, which often didn't conform to any techniques created during the Common Practice Period. Now, due to the arrival of digital distribution, art hosting websites, and streaming services, artists have more opportunity than they *have ever had* to improve their skills, experiment, broaden their horizons, and inject their abilities into the market. The reality is that it isn't newer artists who create new art who lower standards: it's people who demand that we only appreciate the classics without considering newer art (like a certain propaganda channel pretending to be an institution of education) who lower the standards by encouraging people not to innovate or express themselves creatively. I would also like to point out that according to PragerUrine, the peak of "artistic standards" is also around 1850-70, when notorious antisemite and racist Richard Wagner composed the bulk of his most famous works. Coincidence? Probably.

Yes, as a woman i am biologically hardwired to chose lower paying job, what can i say
@anonapop26145 жыл бұрын
I've never got this one though. I've been hiring people most of my working life and there are usually tiers and everyone starts at the same amount depending on experience and level of experience. I've never nor have I ever been encouraged to use anything other than experience and level of education not gender, race, religion, or culture. In fact, I've even been specifically instructed, rightly so, that it's very important to make sure everybody in each tier starts at same wage based solely on experience and level of education. Then people would move up thought merit again based on things like attendance, quality of production (or work) willingness to work overtime when needed etc., and based solely on these things. I've always followed this as have ever other superior I've ever worked with at every place I've ever work. I've never actually seen this happen and I've always been in a position to know what everybody else makes. Even with my wife, she's never experienced anything like that nor any of her friends. We had very similar jobs and she can't think of any case ever of anybody making more or less based on anything other than experience and level of education. We have worked for small companies and very large companies and if we've never even heard of it happening or knows anybody who's heard of it happening with the positions we've held, it's hard to believe that this is such a widespread issue. I'm not saying it may not be true, I just figured being in a position that hires and helps determine wages after so many years I would have noticed something or heard something.
@ldallas83155 жыл бұрын
A lot of far right sentiments like that are rife with contradictions, in this case the contradiction between “women are greedy gold diggers who just want to siphon money from any man they can” and “women just nAtuRalLy choose jobs that pay badly for hard work because they just subconsciously want it.” Like Jesus, if you’re going to blatantly ignore all the political, economic, and cultural structures that influence the world-views, circumstances, and actions of literally everyone, at least just pick one cultural stereotype and actually stick with it.

I'm sorry to come back to an old comment like this but it's kinda stupid how you put yourself as a victim even though nothing prevents you to choose the job you want unless you live in an underdevelopped system it isn't becaus you're a woman that you HAVE to choose a lower paying job, you're not hardwired by anything besides assumptions in this case i hope you didn't mean this message as a joke and if you did try to make it more obvious next time please
@theblueclue38435 жыл бұрын
Supah Moelleux this comment was clearly a joke. A lot of right wingers claim that women are naturally inclined to choose lower paying jobs. (I believe it’s mentioned in the video, but it has been a while). To me -and a lot of other- this is so ridiculous, it’s comical. How can an entire gender be biologically influenced to become a receptionist over an engineer? While things are slowly improving, there has been, and still is societal pressure that steers women away from higher paying jobs. Even personally I’ve had people telling me that I shouldn’t aim for certain jobs because they “aren’t good for women”. Make dominated positions can also be difficult to break into because of “boys club” culture. Women who attempt to break into these areas aren’t respected, and therefore are passed up for promotions etc. Which in turn do not give them access to higher paying jobs. These are just examples of why women don’t end up in there positions, there are many more reasons. But to say that it’s simply because all of the women on the planet just “didn’t choose” these positions is silly. Sorry if that wasn’t very clear and I hope I’ve managed to clear things up.

muscle density - size doesn't equal strength. higher testosterone tends to build denser bones and muscle mass, making a similarly "sized" man stronger (though maybe not by much) than his counterpart

You have the right to be naive. Shaun is a revolutionary that tells us many sophisms in this videos. Only smart people can tell the falacies in the content Shaun is showing. You are not smart and Shaun can capture your mind because of that. Only smart people can identify the malicious content he picks. He is a fighter not a philosopher. But you can't grab this idea because you are not smart. To simplify the issue. You are free. Stop looking to others in order to build a better society, for example study hard, then work and pay taxes. Society improves with working people and not destroying the streets "for a better society". Fun fact: a sea turtle's sex is determined by the environment's temperature around halfway through their incubation period (while they're still in an egg). Hot temperatures produce female sea turtles and cold temperatures produce males. So temperature literally affects the sex of the sea turtle. Temperature, in some ways, is a better label for the x-axis of that PragerU graph than whatever garbage they intended it to be.

Dammit, I hate to admit it, but Andrew Klavan's right... Rosie can't win an arm wrestling match against a man because feminism does not make women stronger! But you know what does? Steroids. So, you just need to replace Feminism with Steroids. And now Rosie can arm wrestle the shit out of the patriarchy. Thanks, Andrew, we would not have figured that one out without you!

I mean, there are actual academic institutions utilizing KZbin for actual education. Khan Academy provides really substantial courses on science and economics. Various actual universities and open university-like institutions have channels that post courses and lectures... I assume regulations regarding online education and its application on KZbin might be quite lax, But isn't this kinda against their own argument about decline of western institution when they equate 5 minute agitprop shitposting for actual higher education?
