One of the hooks that draw men to pornographic images is the fact that they don't judge and don't condemn. I worked some years ago for a certain construction firm. In the shop, some men had taken pornographic pictures from magazines and posted them on the walls. As a believer who seeks to be a godly man, I found this disturbing. I wasn't in charge. I couldn't order the men to remove the pictures, and I had the clear impression that a lecture on the evils of pornography wouldn't get very far. What to do? Prompted - I believe - by the Lord, I made a point of praying every time I saw one of those pictures. I prayed for my family, church, for missionaries - anyone I could think of to pray for. Whenever my eye fell upon one, I would pray. The effect was extraordinary. I found in a short time that I didn't even see the pictures. It was as if they were not there. I believe, if the adversary knows that we will use temptation as a springboard for prayer, he will stop tempting us. I wish I could say that this was the end of all such temptations for me, but I can't. As long as I am breathing, it will be necessary to be on guard and much in prayer.

I am tired of men being given a free pass for lust, then blaming God for making them more "visual." Why would God give men a disadvantage against sin. Comparing lust to hunger, really?

It isn't a free pass but a understanding of how that works in a man's brain A man could say just stop being so emotional it is the same way we just see life differently and both views need to be respected

It's not a free pass, it's a physiological reality. After the fall, both sexes received judgement according to their nature and their sin. Men must practice self control, perhaps see, but not look, Matt 5:28, and women must dress modestly. Each sex has its own battles, and should understand the battles of the other.

@@steventipton5130 being emotional is not a fair comparison. Emotion is not a sin, unless it is escalated into a loss of control. Women and men equally can make a choice to visually sin. Men seem to have been given an excuse to. They are more "visual."

As a man, I catch a glimpse of flesh, some legs or cleavage, in my peripheral vision - I've turned and looked before I even know what I'm doing.
