I've had hair loss for 25 years, since I was 21 years old... Female Pattern Baldness.
In 2022 I got a second type of hair loss, an inflammatory alopecia that truly started to just do horrifying things to my hair that I had not seen before, despite having lived with hair loss for this long. I made the decision May 7, 2023 to shave my head and it is a decision I don't regret, that also doesn't mean I l love it, but it does allow me the ability to live my life.
Sometimes people that comment on my videos don't understand what it took to do this, how difficult it was for me, they see follicles and say, "It looks like you have hair." Yes I have hair, not usable hair. There is a difference.
The whole point of shaving is to help conceal the loss and save my sanity. When it grows to any length ... the extreme thinness becomes more and more apparent and my mental state declines. If I had any other option, I would not have done this, this was 100% required for me to live with hair loss at this point in my hair loss life... not everyone needs to do it, we have to decide for ourselves what we need to do to move forward and not be held hostage to our hair loss.
In 2012 I began wearing wigs, that freed me in so many ways as well, this journey that began for me in 1999 has been long and hair loss took away over a decade of my life, years I'll never get back. Please know there is a way to make this work, in your way, even if you don't see it yet.
Much Love.
