Some great buys there Paul, I have had an X2L brush for about 30 years! Still a great brush. My latest brush is a Simpsons Trafalgar T3 synthetic, my first synthetic and I have been really impressed!! I love Taylor's products, great soaps/creams and good super badger brushes. Cheers, Dave.

I was watching one of Kevy Shaves videos the other night and the guy who owns the Gentlemen's Groom Room up there in Dundee, does a slightly modified version of the Progress. He takes the bakelite adjustment knob off, and replaces it with an aluminium/stainless steel one, and then recalibrate the spring/adjustment. Looked really good. Really enjoyed the video Paul 😀

What a coincidence! I purchased a shavette( Sanguine R5) from a UK vendor almost exactly at the same time as you made your purchase. I have found it most useful for trimming tight spots and my moustache. I prefer a DE razor for straight forward shaving but I definitely am glad I made the addition. You made a great haul on your shopping expedition: congratulations!. Thanks for sharing.

Merkur Progress is a great razor in my mind, care has to be taken that the cap is screwed back on right, there is a little notch on the side of the cap and it goes on the side with the mark on the head of the razor or it will be a disaster. But once that is done, it's a very good razor. And Mr Taylor, that is a cream I could smell over and over, lovely scent!

Paul, you gave me some good reasons to have a trip to London. I love these small traditional shops with good vendors and nice old fashioned furnishings. English soaps have a good image. For those who don't know, there is a great variety in soaps. Man should try out some. Ladies have shoes, we wet shavers have these equipment. Old Bond Street is not far from Piccadilly Circus, easy to find.

i liked the look of the back street shop seemed the friendliest of the three, mind you it was all drool tv lol. i am looking to get a shavette instead of having to maintain a straight razor i fancy the parker sr1 stainless steel using de at min which is great. just purchased a parker 24c an amazing razor fantastic quality i am spending my money on the hardware as i cannot use many software products as i have sensitive skin, am glad in a way cos i would be trying them all lol

A really nice selection of creams, lotions and the brush Paul. You bought wisely. I'm very jealous mate. The items may be expensive but in the long run they will prove far better value than buying cheaper brands. I have owned a long handled Progress for a while now and it is a very good razor. It was my go to razor until having watched your videos I was tempted to buy a Futur from Steve F. (The Big Shave). You'll find the Progress a less aggressive razor to use across its full range of settings when you compare it to the Futur. Nevertheless both are quality items. ATB Happy shaving. Mark

Hi Dan, Many thanks - Eton is just excellent, it's one of my favorite scents. I also like the T&H Grafton and Tabac - in my top 5. Interesting insight into Peppermint....I think I should visit the store one day and smell it for myself and then see if it's worth buying it. I have several TOBS creams and they all perform great....but the different scents they have are just excellent. Seems a bit off that Trumpers didn't allow you to film. You'd think the publicity would assist them. It's not as if you're someone off the street. You have a channel with thousands of subscribers. The Progress is a beauty, I have the same model. Nice and smooth, reasonably aggressive. The Feather blades are exactly the same as the Yellow ones, except the Blacks are 5 per-pack and the Yellows are ten.
