The only product that stop my shaving bumps is soft sheen Carson MAGIC SHAVING POWDER in the gold can. The last time I had shaving bumps was back in .the 1970s. Soft sheen Carson Magic Shaving Powder have my face, and neck feel like smooth baby skin all the time. I use regular strength, not extra strength. I can go 2 or 3 days before I shave again because the shaving powder dissolve the hairs on your face instead of cutting them. It's written on the can that it's for black men.

I'm black too and I think traditional wetshaving is the best way to shave,no canned goo,no face eating cartridge razors and no electric shaver, get you a shaving brush, shaving soap or non canned shaving cream,lather it up and take a straight razor or a safety razor, single or double edge razor blades are cheap,about 15 cents a shave. bevel shaving system is a good one made specifically for black men, plus countless other wetshaving products out there, your face will thank you for it

b.a.c carter I try not to shave everyday cause of the razor bump issue I have. Tried wet and dry shaving. Dry shaving reduces bumps but like others have said its not close. Usually need to shave again in two days. If I goto the Barber I usually don't see growth to the point I have to shave for maybe 3-4 days. Not sure if its a mental thing or I'm just shaving all wrong.

I'm a 23 year old black man with sensitive skin with thick facial hair I use electric razors which are better for my face even though they miss some hairs on my face and do nothing for my neck. I use razors on my neck and sometimes my face which flare up my sensitive skin. SHAVING SUCKS!
@christiandavila6110 жыл бұрын
I'm a 29 yr-old spanish male, and your post describes me to an exact T lol. I couldn't shave cause of my sensitive skin and was just rocking the stubble look for a while with a trimmer. I wanted to get closer shaves so I started using an electric shaver, but the rotary type, the ones with the 3 circles. Like you said, it misses some spots and I can't get it close enough on my neck. I try to press hard to get it close, but that's when my sensitive skin acts up and I get razor bumps. Ima try to using the one Tyrone showed in the vid, I think those are better. What also helps me though is to use a good facial moisturizer afterwards or even when you go to sleep, leave it on. It helps soften the skin so the hairs can break through easier, reducing some of the bumps. And keeping your face clean, sometimes dirt and oil can get stuck in your hair follicles and that creates irritation and what looks like acne when your hairs are growing out. The shit we gotta go through lol. Some people complain about not being able to grow a beard and they have no facial hair and I'm just like "I'll trade with you if I could" lol. The grass is always greener...

When you said white men can get razor bumps but they're not nearly as bad, I could not agree more. I've seen so many white folks with razor bumps but there not even bumps... Idk if it applies to Asians but the problems black men face I also face. Maybe it's cause I'm a quarter white which gives me super coarse facial hair

I'll tell you all what really helped me. I used to have razor bumps super bad when I was younger. It was to the point where my brother and I had to see a dermatologist. Dry shaving prevents bumps but your skin will never be super smooth. To get super smooth skin the secret is to use really high quality blades like a Mach 5 Turbo or a Gillette Fusion. The second thing you want to do is always use sensitive skin shaving cream and never without it. Finally and most importantly you must use a correct shaving technique. Never Ever Shave Against The Grain. For those that don't know, when you rub your skin in one direction and it feels rough but the other direction feels smooth. Well the rough is the grain. Always shave in the direction of the smooth. Also if the bathroom is steamy that helps with the condition of your skin. Doing this not only helped me get a smooth shave but it cleared up my skin as well.

I know this video is a few years old now but the advice is still spot on! I work in finance and need a clean shave. I used to only use an Andis t-outliner but by 2-3 o'clock I'd look unshaven again. Using this technique of trimming with my Andis and finishing with a foil shaver (Braun 5-series) I am bump free and look much more professional than before. I've tried manual shaving and rotary blades but had bad shaving bumps from both.

This is why if I ever own a business as a black man I will let all my brothers grow their facial hair out. As long as it's trim neatly and not all bin Ladin then I'm cool. Thanks for the vid in defiantly going to try that out I just recently started wet shaving hoping that maybe it will better now that I'm older 25 years old. Nope I was wrong stills gives me bumps on my cheeks thank god my neck is safe but my right cheek is starting to look bad. A good way to start over black men is too grow your hair out for a month if you can and then cut with a clipper if the wet shave thing wasn't for you.

The itchyness last for at least 2 weeks , that is when the beard has grown a bit. I use coconut oil, or almond oil to moistarise. I have stopped shaving now but I wish I could shave.
