He doesn't state that Ruth and Bad slept together, only that this story is an echo of past examples of bad unions. In fact all of these stories have bad ends but ruth's. Thus is could be considered an example of an honest union.

When I read the story of Tamar and Ruth, I see a spiritual struggle for the salvation of mankind. The line of the Messiah is extinguised on the male side and these extraordinary circumstances brings the line of the Messiah back into play. I don't know for sure but it could be why there is a memorial to Boaz at the temple.

As I have been taught Torah, and the Book of Ruth, Ruth proclaims her entry into covenant 1:16, she became "Hebrew" by "crossing over" the Jordan, (Baptized?) grafted in, she receives "bread" (word of YHVH) from Boaz's field. Boaz is a Kinsman of Ruth's Family. A Kinsman Redeemer? 4:5-10. In Hebrew garb, the social status was stitched in the hem of clothing. Ruth covered herself in Boaz's skirt 3:9. A Robe of Righteousness? Yes, this story links lineage of King David, Also, it is a Typology story. Are not all individuals on earth eligible to be in covenant with YHVH? To cross over, read, study, and learn Torah, to be covered by Yeshua's robe of righteousness, enter into marriage and be a Bride of YHVH?

@@C777plus0 I believe there is a layer of the Word that is all about time. KZbin is full of videos about Pesach sheni being a "second chance". There isn't much written about it. I make the assumption that things of the first Passover carry over to the second. There is lamb separation. How would you know that your lamb is one year old? I believe God is exact in his times and measurements. Would you trust a lamb vendor and ask him how old the lamb was? I believe God's count starts from lamb separation of Pesach Sheni just as it did for Noah! The year starts with 3 days plus a 7 day wedding plus a payout of 30 sheets (days in Samson riddle). I believe these 3+7 are the same 10 (days/times) of Job, Daniel, Moses, or even the 10 shoe(unit of measurement)witnesses of Ruth. The "time" of fruit is after 4 years. Yet there is a hint in Isaiah that you wait 2 years then plant which would make 6 years. On God's lunar calendar 4 years is 1,476 days (14.76 x 2=lunar month). 10 years plus the 30 sheets is1,476 + 1.5(1,476)+2. This is the wedding at Cana if you can hear it. It's 39(stripes)+10 solar years. It's not Revelation. It's not Paul. It's not angels. It is Jesus.

Trashing the Bible leads nowhere good. However, I am curious. When you stand before God. What excuses do you think you'll spew to get him to just accept your trashing his Word? It would be insane to think that you can stand before a judge in a court room and spew lame excuses. What in your mind, makes you think that it would be less than that, to try that with God?

Terrible explanation of the Book of Ruth.....First, it was the Barley Harvest then 50 days later it was the wheat Harvest, (this is the counting of the Omer) My....you have totally ruined this beautiful typology of the Kinsman Redeemer...Ruth's gesture was to ask Boaz to be her Kinsman Redeemer..being covered with his Tallit..this is Ruth proposing to Boaz....this was not a seduction, this was a request...since Boaz was not her closest kinsman, Boaz had to approach the other, closer relative/ Kinsman, to ask if he would like to have the land that belongs to Naomi, letting him know that he also had to take Ruth as his wife...he declined...then Boaz was able to marry her...get your story right!!!! Shame on you!!! This is a typology of our soon Blessed HOPE! There are three harvests...first the Passover, waving of the sheaf of barley (Jesus' resurrection) second Harvest was the wheat harvest, (The body of Christ-the church) this was waving the two loaves of bread with new yeast....and the last harvest is the in-gathering, or Tabernacles, when the saints who do not take the mark of the beast are raptured....study the Bible!!!!!!

people do not read and just go with the traditions of man. Exodus 23:15-16 Says to count Omar 7 weeks and then count another 50 days. First time He came off the mountain he broke the tablets for their idolatry worshipping a golden calf. worshipping a golden calf. So He did not give the Commandments then and had to go back up to get the commandments and bring them back down again and that’s when he gave the Torah to them. At least that what scriptures says.

if yebum is only for brothers , why did Ruth seduce Boaz, he wasn't Elimelech's brother ?
@WatchingMyLifeFlashB
@WatchingMyLifeFlashB 4 жыл бұрын
Judah being the father is Zerah & Perez was the same concept. The nearest male. Usually that's the dead man's brother. Naomi specifically says Boaz is a kinsman. It was common knowledge that Naomi was back in town. The nearest kinsman of Elimelech was ignoring Naomi, because he doesn't want to support her, but when Ruth lays down at his feet, he realizes that he can not just ignore the situation anymore. Naomi & Ruth aren't as destitute as they may appear. Apparently, the Jubilee is coming soon when the fields or land that the starving Elimelech had sold just before leaving Israel for Moab will be returned to his closest male descendent. So, even though Ruth is a paganborn gleaner & Naomi is just a widow will no living sons, they would ultimately bring great wealth to whoever took over their headship. Boaz hadn't really thought about it much because it wasn't the closest male. If the guy who was supposed to be taking care of them wasn't, he wasn't going to go getting overly involved. Sure, he could spare grain from his own field & labor from his workers, as he was a wealthy man. Seeing that Ruth was not doing any harm & caring for Naomi when no one else was, Boaz was careful to tell Ruth in clean only in his field, under his protection, as he had ordered his workers to, not only not harass her, but to make sure her gleaning produced greater yields as he understood she was gleaning for two, as Naomi was old, frail, & a mourning widow. But Ruth laying at his feet was, indeed, Ruth offering herself to him. Boaz hadn't thought of marrying Ruth as he was an older man, one who had never married. Keep in mind that even though he was of Israelite birth, his own mother had been of pagan birth, Rachab, who by legend had originally been a woman of I'll repute, though considered a brave heroine for her faith in the Israelites & their God. Apparently, the local fathers in the area during the famine hasn't been interested in their daughter marrying a man of mixed parentage, even if he had received a considerable fortune. But feeling carefree, joyful, & blessed at the end of the annual wheat harvest & threshing, he was further blessed to find the young, beautiful girl at his feet. The feet represent responsibility. That's why the sandal was symbolically given later in the story & dust is shaken from the sandals of evangelists who message is rejected by a household, & a father is to teach his sons in the 'path' footsteps they should follow. Naomi was instructing Ruth how to throw herself upon the mercy of Boaz, who was obviously the only head of household/kinsman who might possibly do right by them, in their seeming predicament. Naomi probably hadn't even considered her husband's former estate as she figured she'd probably be dead before the year of Jubilee. All she wanted was get Ruth married off, or at least a concubine, of a good kinsman. Considering Ruth was not only a pagan, but not a virgin, most Israelites wouldnt touch her with a ten foot pole. This left only old Boaz as a candidate. Boaz hadn't thought of Ruth in the negative light of most Israelites though. He had seen that she was a beautiful caring woman of virtue who left her homeland, abandoning her birthnation, in order to be with & supporting her mother-in-law & attempt to assimilate with her dead husband's birth nation. This struck a cord with him due to his own mother's experience. He figured Ruth, with her apparent beauty would be able to find plenty of eager, young suitors, just as his own mother had been. So, not only was he shocked, he felt humbled. What could a young, vibrant woman see in an old man like him? Naomi had told Ruth to take care when & how to sneak in during the night & Boaz, likewise, had instructed her how to exit in order to not tarnish her reputation. Boaz promised to settle the matter in the morning. The nearest kinsman apparently was narcissistic. He had substantial land, a wife, sons of his own, & plans for their inheritance. Boaz brought up the upcoming land inheritance first, to make it a bait & switch. The elderly Naomi comes with a sizeable estate. Being elderly & postmenopausal, it seemed like a slam dunk. Feed, cloth, & house the old bag until her death, & he'd be able to add Elimelech's estate to his own for eventual distribution to his sons. But wait, Boaz pointed out, there were figurative apron strings attached in the form of widowed Ruth who was of childbearing age. It would be expected that he provide a child for her in the memory of her dead husband, either with him as the father or with one of his sons doing the deed. That wouldn't make his wife a happy woman, sharing the happy family's abode with not only an old bag, but a Moabite. And his current son's inheritances would be substantially reduced. This shows he already had tons of land since the resultant estate would have to divided at least 3 ways with the eldest getting a double portion. Elimelech's land would have been icing on the cake, but having at least three mouths to feed, clothe, & house for a varied lengths of time, but worse yet an extra heir for his current son's to share with was not within his plans. He would rather pass the opportunity on to someone else, anyone else. He already had his family & didn't want a new one cramping his style or unduly complicating his plans. Boaz apparently had anticipated this prior to confronting his kinsman with the situation. Boaz hadn't been seeking marriage or an heir, but he was more than happy to be handed the opportunity to marriage a relatively young & beautiful woman & attempt to bear an heir in his old age. And so the sandal (the responsibility) was taken off of the closest kinsman & handed to Boaz. The levirate marriage only seems seedy to modern mindset. Remember the Judah/Yudas had originally inferred that Thamar/Tamar was a twotiming harlot when a gossipmonger had run to him with word of her pregnancy. Yet, when he had been informed of the circumstances, he had called Tamar righteous. Why? Tamar, Rachab, Ruth, & even later Bathsheba had put faith in a god of whom was not known from their own people. These women's lives were far from common as they, themselves, were of foreign birth & their own children were born of faith in God. Zerah & Perez had a biological father in Judah, but they were born in memory of two of Judah's sons. Boaz was the biological father of Obed, but was born in memory of Naomi's son, which is why Naomi is called his mother. Even Solomon was born in memory of Uriah the Hittite, as his older brother, the bastard love child of an adulterous union, had died a week after his birth. Solomon, however, was born of the yurim, as Solomon had purposely murdered Uriah by proxy, & due to that sin, had to himself die by proxy. As such King David knew he owed Bathsheba not only a son, but a special son, who would be able to protect her after David's death. A foreign born mom to a son far down the chronological succession. The only way to protect Bathsheba & Solomon would be to appoint Solomon King over all while still alive. In his old age, with his destractive health, & his limited exposure to the Royal proceedings he had delayed or temporarily forgotten his intentions or vows & as such needed to be reminded. I don't consider the arrangements to be as shocking as this video title would have one think. Lot's daughters had grown up in Sodom. The men who had been betrothed to them had apparently never been interested in them. Remember that the men who showed up to rape the angels probably includes their fiancees. Lot had probably arranged the engagements, but to the men, the arrangement was for political purposes as Lot could not have legally offered his virginal daughters if their brideprices had already been paid. And none of the men wanted the girls, & none of the men yelled out, Hey Lot, she's my bride-to-be, why are you offering them for a gang rape? Lot knew the mob didn't want his girls, that's why he made the offer, just to temporarily distract the mob & prove the point that this wasn't just about sex, forced sex, but forced sexual relations with men. Having grown up in such a homosexual, male dominated environment, the daughters probably wanted nothing to do with a husband, straight or gay. Sure there were males nearby, but these females, didn't wish to marry into pagan houses & become dominated by pagan husbands. They had no way to really travel to find their granduncle Abraham who only probably had Ishmael as a potential suitor. They'd rather by single mothers with masters sons born of incestuous copulation with their father than leave their father all alone & submit to pagans. Their childhood being raised in Sodom had left a bad residue in their mindsets. Rather than honestly & openly discuss their desires for motherhood or engage their father in a discussion, demanding he provide them with suitable spouses, they took matters into their own hands & wombs. They had not conceived through faith in God, but rather to spite Him. They were neither wife nor concubine to their father & since they had to get him drunk two nights in a row to perform the sordid acts, it was apparent that Lot wouldn't have willingly partook of his daughters' virginity. Each daughter only had one time with their father & only one child each, so the two acts weren't for pleasure, but rather purpose, to conceive. As such one person may say their activity is yurim, but I think not, just like Hagar being given to Abraham wasn't yurim. Both were cases of women thinking & manipulating in earthly terms & sin, not in righteousness with faith in God. Big differences.

The story with Judah and Tamar again points to the same thing!If you have the son,you have the FATHER!Her first husband wicked,as the firstborn then dies!Her second Husband is a picture of Yeshua who is considered wicked until he dies,he has the curses put upon him,but after he is the real husband and father!This is what the ring and staff Judah gives Tamar represents!She is one with the FATHER!At the end of the story Judah tells Tamar she is more righteous than he and they do not become one again!These stories show a picture of humans FIRST husband and father as HASATAN and AFTER YESHUA DIES ,HE IS THE SECOND HUSBAND/FATHER WHO IS A REAL HUSBAND FATHER WHO WOULD DIE FOR US RATHER THAN KILL US AS JUDAH HAD PLANNED TO DO! THIS IS WHY ABRAHAM SAID SARAH WAS HIS SISTER,BECAUSE A REAL HUSBAND DIES FOR HIS WIFE AND THAT IS WHAT HE KNEW THEY WOULD DO TO HIM!!! ALL POINTING TO SALVATION AND THE SPIRITUAL FATHER AS OPPOSED TO THE FATHER OF FLESH,WHO IN THE FIRST COVENANT,SENTENCED US ALL TO DEATH,THIS IS WHY FLESH DIES!!!!!!!!

Yes, the Book of Ruth in Hebrew (original language) DOES speak of performing an act of "lying at one's feet" - lying at one's feet is not seduction. However, a woman being alone with a man, secluded at night in a tent (bedroom) is one of the required symbolism of marriage. "Yihud", as this seclusion can be fit into the framework of "seduction".
