Lotsa fun SB movies in this set - enjoy! Be curious what you think of Web of Death :) and yes... when you get Shawscope 3 you will love Avenging Eagle - it's a fun one!

Oh boy, is Web Of Death horrendous? Haha... I'm currently watching The Water Margin. So I'm in for a long "epic" adventure apparently 😅😅 It's all subtitles too, no dubs. Hopefully I'll be able to pay attention well enough on this swelteringly hot day!

@@thesharphandpath enjoy - The Water Margin is entertaining but a ton of info and characters to absorb.... if you didnt know the sequel All Men Are Brothers which I think is on the Shout Factory Iron Triangle Set.... and there's also Delightful Forest which is sorta like a prequel with Ti Lung.

@CoinOpTV Ah yes, I've watched Delightful Forest already. It was awesome! I've been told that the Iron Triangle box has the sequel before (maybe by Mitch from the comments?) 😁😁

If we talk about Pai Mei you must watch The Executioners from Shaolin.

Good film, I have it in the 1st or 2nd Shawscope box set!

I think this set is my favourite, and even though it contains a bunch of wuxia (meaning "of martial chivalry ,super human ability etc - weapon films ) Shaw had moved on since the early days , basically films were way better. Chor Yuen bought Wuxia back with Killer clans ,then Chang Cheh followed by making Brave Archer . Shawscope 3 only has wuxia films on it ,but all of them are excellent. Shout factory showcase a broader range of directors (except Lau Kar-leung ) so it gives a far better representation of styles and films in general. Arrow didn't feature any film's from Chor Yuen ,Sun Chung or Ho Meng Hua and between the 3 of them they made over 70 films at least . Shaw films were usually Mandarin as this was the first language of mainland China ,even though Hong Kong speak Cantonese, it was a business decision by Run Run . In the 80's it changed and most Shaw films were Cantonese . It was actually a Chor Yuen film (House of 72 tenants )that started the shift . I await to hear your thoughts Jessie , you are in for a treat with this set .

It's probably gonna be a bit before I do any further content on the 3rd volume but I definitely will be doing a ranking of some sort and giving my thoughts on the films within 😁
