On the topic of white ppl loving stats, I’ve always thought that a lot of them have a need intellectualize things they can’t understand or feel culturally. Like we don’t need a spreadsheet to understand why andre 3000 is an icon but they’d rather dissect “the 38 syllables he used and 4 rhyme scheme switches.” And a lot of times when you ask the artists about music theory they can’t even tell you what they did. They did it off of feeling and understanding intuition.

I mean personally I think its cool to dissect artists lyrics when they're writing at that level, I get what you're saying but sometimes its interesting to find some lines that could easily go over some ones head.

@@trollfacegallor @jonharrington2376 Exactly. This also like when an athlete has done something amazing in a given sport and a scientist disects why the athlete is so good and what makes them so good etc. The athlete may not even understand exactly what theyre doing on a scientific level but they just know a certain move or an idea might work and they just execute it. Just like that artist, musician, song writer, etc. Someone can do something great and amazing and they may not even fully understand themselves on a fundamental level as to why its so good.

I can kinda see what Shawn was saying about Uzi. Millennials maybe the last generation that really likes routine or choreographed dances that took awhile to learn. So it was more fun to dance to them at parties and bond over it. The panini making us less social or connecting in cases could be another factor too. Plus It was more of a sensory and relatable experience for us to learn or teach each other these dances as we watched the music videos for these songs or listened to the songs in real time in better social elements. Also stuff like vine and tik tok has lowered our attention span and thrown more crap at us at lightening speed. There’s no time any more to digest and enjoy music like it was 10 years ago. Millennials and Gen Z have seen dance crazes on social media come and go, it’s all about what’s hot right now. Lastly, as gen z was growing up, they grew up with the same music as us lowkey, that’s why they keep rehashing stuff from the early 2000s or late nineties to modern day audiences to bank on nostalgia, which is why I agree with both Shawn and and Eric that their is less room for substance in the music industry. That’s why execs are having a hard time replacing the people that are selling out world wide concert tours currently like the weekend, Taylor Swift, Beyoncé, or drake. It’s these execs faults too because they created a machine to pump out a crap load of material to see what would stick and push creativity to the side greatly. Songs like I wanna rock won’t have longevity like our modern classics today because they are pushing artists to pump out stuff for profit not for pleasure or the art of music.

Shawn continuously has the worst takes no matter what lmaoo, that cupid shuffle/Uzi convo was the most dense shit. Cupid shuffle is played in so many places. Any event or gathering is throwing on the cupid shuffle no matter where you at. Weddings, Family Reunions, six flags, field days, etc. Just wanna rock is gonna be in a different lane of longevity, I think it’ll be impossible not to hear that song in at any sports arena. It can become that quintessential hype up song

I'm not a Drake stan but Honestly Nevermind is an incredible album. Saying other people could have done it better is such lazy criticism, you can say that about anything. Also Drake's repetitive melodies fit the very ethereal production perfectly. The sequencing is also very good. Great unique, refreshing, experimental concept album from one of the biggest hip-hop artist

@@lyleugleman9799 how is it not? it borrows from house sounds but it makes something different out of it, there's also very unorthodox song structure. and it's definitely conceptual

@@Kosiduss You have a plastic personality if you unironcially like Drake. Dude doesn't make the beats, write the songs, or even use his natural voice. Drake is an image, and you bought it. You just have a big crush on Drizzie like a groupie.
