She's 16 here. She's 21 now. I just watched her 2nd tumbling pass, the triple twist and got goose bumps. It was like she defied gravity for as long as possible. Such power!

I still miss, and absolutely adore these two. It was they who made me, a football player and now grouchy old fan, who made WAG dear to my heart. I should also mention the Fierce Five in 2012. And I remember most McKayala Maloney when she gathered her courage and testified. Yes, these are strong women, but they are precious children for much of their careers. We need to cherish and protect these women. I wonder how many also suffered, and maybe still suffer. Shawn Johnson and Nastia liukin still inspire me with their lives.

A lot of people put pressure on gymnastics for their skills but when it comes to their minds they just aren't there yet. We will see a lot of this at the Olympics Trials here in a few months because the pressure will be even greater than it has been in the past.

It depends what your start value is. The more difficult scores and more connections you have will bring up your score. And then a 10 point execution score is added. Her start value here is 6.4, and when you add the execution score, it makes the routine start from 16.4.

no, they kept it. the 2000 olympics, yes, with Yang Yun and Dong Fangxiao, but not in the 2008 olympics. the IOC received sufficient proof.

there's a border around the floor area, and if they step out of that border, they suffer a deduction. one tenth for one foot, three tenths for both feet.

The Olympics is a totaly different game..people at this Olympics who weren't expected to fall...did fall. 2006 WC in the AA fell, Cheng Fei fell, Alicia fell..the pressure here is just so crazy that anything can happen. Nastia lost the Johnson all season but when it got to the Olympics she was better than she was in 2005.

It's an amazing routine but you can seen why Sandra won. The difficulty was lower but she was cleaner then Shawn (Oh and she did step out on the side of the floor that's not covered by the slow motion camera angle.)

well, it's her extra pass- the added 5th pass that gymnasts in this quad used. tended to be easier- double twist, front full, etc. and\or, that she performed it easily.

Most were only really known long after the statute of limitations had passed. Gina Gogean, Lavinia Agache, Olga Bicherova, Olga Mostepanova and Daniela Silivas, Kim Gwang Suk, Hong Su Jong. They do not always choose to strip medals. In the case of the last two, they banned the country for 2 years.

She changed her 3rd pass from a front handspring full twist to a rudi. She instead performed a handspring full twist to a half twisting layout. That could be the reason why her score was 15.1 because there is no way in hell that that solid, strong routine with a 6.6 start value could have so many deductions to receive a 15.1. Not performing the end rudi could have lowered her start value up to .2 tenths.
