Shawn Johnson. Young & Beautiful.

Montage of Shawn Johnson. I tried to focus on her gymnastics career in 2005 through 2007, but I threw in the 2008 Olympics and 2011 Nationals at the end. I focused on those years because it was before everything got crazy and when we all believed she would be the Olympic Champion. It was also when she was new to the scene and everything was just fun and exciting. Those are my favorite years of her career. I'm never going to be able to accept that she's retired and we will never see her compete again... as all of you know she was my favorite gymnast from 2006 and she still is. I have made so many montages of her in the past and I never want to stop making videos of her. When I went to see the Great Gatsby movie I heard this song and immediately had to make a montage of Shawn to it. It's so beautiful and it really fits her story. Shawn is special to me because we are the same age. She was a gymnast and I was a cheerleader. She motivated me to try harder in cheer and push myself. She also motivated me to give gymnastics a shot at age 15. When she retired from gymnastics, I had a career ending injury around the same time and had to stop cheering. It was so hard for me, but knowing she had to give up an even bigger dream helped me keep my focus. We share the same passion for fitness now and she motivates me to be a better person everyday. She will always be my favorite gymnast. I wish her the best of luck in everything she is doing now. It's been a long road and I wish all of her dreams could have come true, but I'm sure she has many great memories. Hopefully this will not be the last montage I make of Shawn, but I know this will be the last one for a while. I love you Shawn, thank you for sharing your journey with us.
