I immediately think of The Weeknd, who's arguably also very open about his feelings through his music, but for one - the messages are almost always vague and let you interpret them for yourself, and the other thing is, he almost never gives interviews about his music, let alone his personal life.

He has been groomed by the industry since he was 15, he is back answering questions robotically. Notice in another interview he talks about seeing pictures of her before they were together and he use to say he had feelings now he says when he sees the picture Wow, then goes on to say he felt same during the time together and even now seeing pictures of her Wow. What he is doing is being groomed by his team/publicist covering all the the fans and skeptics concerns of how he could have loved her, not see a picture and say Wow, but he use to say he loved her all those years, so he is covering all these topics to put them aside so comments will be squashed but he is not answering like Shawn use to answer and it is so obvious. I kept going over and over thinking why was his answers off and this is why

I agree with this. Lots of artists write songs about their ex’s & don’t feel the need to say their name every 5minutes, even when fans usually know who they’re singing about. To me & im just talking about my own opinion here, him thinking that being so open to, let’s face it strangers, will endear him to his fans. And he does seem to make a lot of decisions based on fan reaction. but to me, who is a fan I feel like he’s trying to manipulate us & it makes me feel like he’s using her to get more streams or whatever & it cheapens the relationship they had. He’s coming across as a bit of a user. I’m also not denying he’s upset over the split, but if what we know is true & it was his decision, well being someone myself who’s broken up with people, generally you’re in a much happier place. I mean that’s kind of the point, cos it means you’re unhappy in the relationship, so when that’s finished with, it’s generally a relief. Otherwise why break up at all. god i love this man so much. at one point he was my whole world, the comfort of him made everything better. but then i grew up, i got busy with my life, with my future. i still am so so busy but every once in a while i will see a video or a picture on my fyp or feed and my heart combusts with the nostalgia and pride. over the past couple of weeks ive really been reconnecting with shawn and realising he will alway be so special to me.

If I were him, I would get my finances secure, buy a house and fully pay for it, and then come out. That way, if the majority of his female fan base leaves him/stops supporting him at the financial rate they currently do and have in the past, he won’t become broke and have to go get a normal job that doesn’t truly make him happy. The amount of judgement in this comment section is ridiculous. Haters claiming they know the ins and outs of their relationship, running with tabloid narratives, and stating flat out lies or information taken out of context. As a fan of both don't believe any of those comments. Just because they broke up doesn't mean there was anything sordid happening. No one said the relationship was stale, there was no cheating or inappropriate actions, and neither of them have said anything directly about why the relationship ended besides needing to focus on themselves and their careers for awhile. Thank you, all they put out was that joint statement. Camila's only interview with Zane Lowe she said she fucking loves shawn mendes and also she only has love for him. Now he has changed the narrative in an interview when asked about the line of when your staring at a picture of the only girl that mattered, in previous interviews he spoke about how he relized he loved her before illuminate album and all those albums were about her, now he is saying that before dating he would see a picture and say "wow", including during and even now if he sees a picture he says "wow". Plus he use to say she was the only girl he has ever loved, now he said she is one of the only girls that when he sees her pic he still feels the same in his heart. Seems he is back to being coached on his answers
