Just love and support them as much as you can, not enabling them but emotionally support them I assure you they have enough self guilt and shame, and shutting them down and cutting them out of your life only makes things worse. I want to make it clear that I didn't expect an interview with Shawn Michaels would make me cry at the end. You don't ever want to take anything for granted. If you deal with demons, and articulate your previous trasgressions into a lesson of life, it really shows the man you are. No matter the past, no matter who you were then, there's always a light at the end of the tunnel. You can call it corny all you want, but for someone like Shawn Michaels can admit his flaws and state that mortality does exist, this explains how you can be passionate about the business, and prove your worth. I mean, Ik there’s Flair, Dusty, Savage, Steamboat, Curt Hennig (who will always be in my top 5/10), but imo Shawn was the best to ever do it. Especially work wise and selling, especially once he got his act together.
