@@rawgaming8394 100% agree. His dad had already said that before the fight. He threw in the towel based on his pride/ego more than saving Shawn. To me, Shawn seemed to have 1 foot into retirement already. He showed no real emotion about the fight being stopped. He was too "ok" with the fight being stopped. It almost felt like his dad didn't really think he could beat Crawford. Had Tyson Furys corner prematurely stopped any fight with Wilder, he never would've won the belt. With Kenny acting that way, Ali never would've had an opportunity to beat Foreman. Bottom line, Kenny was being Kenny. And Shawn is now being Shawn trying to save face and clean it up. He wasn't paying him to be his dad. He was paying him to be his trainer. He was fully aware of what was going on and his trainer should've given him instructions on what adjustments to make in the next round.

Still, it was not right for your dad to throw you under the bus like he did. Him revealing what happened in camp in front of thousands of fans should be more embarrassing than you getting knocked down. That conversation should have been had back at the hotel _(before you thank him for anything)_ that should have been private, just as the camp was. You sitting here in pains trying to play advocate for him is rather concerning. This doesn’t sound right, especially after you said _”NO”_ to him for the _”FIRST TIME”_ in your life. 🤔

in a moment of candor the father had to let the world know he did not do certain things at training that he asked him .why would you want the father to take those silly knockdown blemish when shawn was a coach onto himself.it must be a lesson to all athletes that do as the coach tells you.do not pick and choose training regimes.easy training regimes do not improve you as a boxer rather go for the strenuous and arduous options the gaffer has on the table....you cant beat the master.

@@joackimkanengoni9480 We are not looking at this from the same angle. The question is; has Shawn done that before, i.e disregard his dad’s instructions in training? As he said, he’s NEVER said _NO_ to his dad/disregard his orders. Then why now, in the biggest fight and defining moment of his career?🤷🏻‍♂️ And don’t you find it strange that Shawn says there never was a conversation about stopping the fight, and that it caught him by surprise?🤔 I suspect this to be much deeper than we’re lead to believe. I agree with your dad, his decision to stop the fight and also broadcasting the statement pertaining to your training and preparation. (Nothing wrong with being transparent) The reason I agree is simple; We have a tendency as people to judge things based on how we would have handled a situation, we're not Kenny, he handled it his way.. it was not for us to judge. If Shawn would have gotten hurt in the ring folks would have had something to say about that too. Sad world. 😢 Good job Kenny. Love is what loves does, if love does nothing , then loves is nothing. shawn a lesson of life is the moment your son says no when you are his gaffer know pride has gradually gotten of him.disaster is imminent.shawn every normal father wants the best out of his son.however that moment as the gaffer your son disapproves what you put up for him to follow through already in the mind you know whats coming.a big lesson to all son to father associations.....follow diligently what your daddy asks of you.

This is how an emotionally abused child after years of parental narcissistic abuse answers a question. He’s been obedient his whole life for his daddy’s approval and still continues to do so by defending him embarrassing his own son on a world stage. Sad shit. His dad limited based on his own fear based thinking. He manifested the throwing in of the towel.

I wouldn't call this emotional abuse. Probably just dependant and a habit.

@GOW years of it repetitively within his experience has trapped him into this mode of thinking. That’s abuse.

Real Talk! Much respect for Shawn even touching the stoppage subject and showing up because most dudes would tell their counterparts "don't touch that subject" before airing! Shawn has and will always be a winner when it comes to boxing in my eyes! Never carried a ego,or cried about a judges decision! From me to you thanks for giving us great fights and I looked forward to your broadcasting future👊
