I love seeing you and Alex together. What a beautiful friendship 🤎 Also, LOVE LOVE LOVE your hair in a bun. All your features just shine! . . . I wholeheartedly agree with you about going outside. No matter the weather, I'll read outside, go for long walks, sit at an outdoor cafe (even if briefly), and I always feel better. (And I live in a very cold and gray climate.) It's been my remedy against the winter blues for as long as I can remember. Sometimes it's hard to motivate myself to do it, but once I'm out I don't regret it . . . Lastly, I bought a graphic novel about Billie Holiday for high school students. (I'm a librarian) And they absolutely loved diving into history through this format. They were more susceptible to learning about her because of the beautiful illustrations, than if they would have had to read a textbook. I'm all for exploring different genres to spark joy and curiosity!

I had gray after on my list but read it cuz you recommended it and it was so good. You might like the final scene by steph nelson. It's kinda similar to gray after dark. I feel alex on curvy girl summer as a big girl the uncle was triggering but I pushed through it and really enjoyed the book

@ of course! And yes I have read that one too. I think that one was my third favorite of all her books. Sooo good just love her style of writing it engulfs you and makes you think a lot! At the end of it all is a standalone even though some characters from her sun series are referenced a few times. I would say it’s a slowish burn, sports romance. Also her books are usually in 3rd POV (which I generally don’t prefer but it works for her!) but this one was in 1st POV which was also interesting and a pleasant surprise. I won’t say too much more though for fear of giving spoilers.

I’ve read The Diamond Eye, also by Quinn, and it was good! I struggled at the beginning, but it was for a book club so I kept going. I didn’t regret it; once I got into the setting/premises/etc, the reading was a breeze!.. I was going to read another by her but reverted to romance 🙈 maybe I should read The Rose Code with you

The Book of Longings is the most incredible and amazing re-imagining of Jesus's life events, one of my fave historical fiction novels and finished it so fast.
