John D. MacArthur Beach State Park is one of my favorite summer snorkeling spots. During the winter, we experience higher wave action so snorkeling is a bit more difficult. This was our first attempt to get in the water this spring. The sand levels were up a bit, but that might change as the summer continues.
The reef at MacArthur is made up of Anastasia Limestone formations that provide a base structure for marine life. In the video, I will talk a bit about the worm rock that grows on this limestone. Check out the links below for some additional information.
John D. MacArthur State Park is a true Florida gem… with the longest undeveloped coastline in Palm Beach County. It also offers great access to the Lake Worth Lagoon and Estuary habitats.
