the thing is verity could be interesting if idk, verity & her kids are like actually been abused by jeremy but no one believed them since jeremy is so good at putting on the nice guy facade but lowen started to put the pieces together and then help verity & crew escape jeremy (and maybe even make lowen & verity falling in love with each other, since colleen gotta insert some romance no matter what genre it is anyway. and at least it would make a lot more sense too; lowen not only getting to know verity through her works and journals, but also just their interactions together since at some point she also help taking care of verity as well when everyone else is sort of busy and the fondness towards verity just grow naturally for lowen) like just imagine one of the last scenes is them trying to run away from the big creepy mansion while jeremy is practically hunting them down since he figured it out that lowen and verity been working together?!?!? gahh the sapphic thriller perfection it couldve been

To me it's a book that has a lot of plot twists for the sake of plot twists. So many things are creepy but not in a good thriller type way (I don't know how to explain). I don't know honestly nothing makes sense to me in this book. And I've read some very good thriller in my native language so this book is just 1/5.
