It's been almost 1 and a half year since my parents divorced which made my life change. I used to he a very haply kid . after that incident my life turned upside down. When tyb released I fell in love with him. I searched things about him and his music and became a really big fan. This year I was literally suffering from anxiety, social anxiety, depression and other mental disorders. I became suicidal, I self harmed but what kept me alive and strong was music. I don't only listen to Shawn but Shawn was the first artist I got into his music. This song reminds me of everything that's going on in my life and every time I'm in tears. It gives me strength to move on and never give up and I hope that _soon the fog will clear up_ This is so inspiring and I miss this kind of music but still I'm thankful that music exists because it's my recovery and without it everything would be different. I just heard this song I just started crying. I know that this song is old and no one will really see this but I just really felt that I had to leave a comment. When I was younger, about 7-8 years ago I used to listen to Shawn Mendes and I was OBSESSED lol. I would listen to every single song Shawn released and it was all I listened to for years (i wish i was exaggerating lol). I was so young back then and hearing this song now is just flooding me with so much nostalgia. Now I'm 15 years old and I have been struggling with severe anxiety for the past couple of years. Even though I'm still struggling and I've got a lot more to learn about how to manage my anxiety, my younger-self would be so proud of who I am and how strong I have become. This song hits so different now that I'm older and I was not expecting such an emotional response. For anyone who sees this, just know that you deserve love. this is my big sis. she looked so strong so proud so.. alright. I never bothered her really. I wanted to be just Like her. chin up. head held high. Confidence in her eyes. what a gorgeous strong girl. turned out she was hurting. hard. she never showed it. never. then one day she went missing. for three days. then they found her body. she committed suicide. I was only 8 when I heard this. oh how I miss her. crying is not even an option for how much every body is missing her. she was my best friend. the only one that told my that everything was going to be alright when my parents fought. watching her calm down my dad while I was under the bed. she was punched by my dad. I was crying. miss her so much. later on my parents got a divorce and my mom and older siblings (2) moved. then being put in foster care for 6 years still am. I don't feel strong. no confidence in my eyes. no hope for my future. but when I sing to the sky. I know I'll be alright. safe. OK. this song made me from committed suicide ( I'm only 12) I know Shawn won't see this but here it goes.. thank you. you saved my life (I know pathetic). I love you Shawn Mendes. 💖✌

When I was eleven years old, I left my country with my family. We emigrated to Ecuador, when arriving everything was very hard. We stop living in a big house to be in a very small and cold room. Then we moved to a bigger and nicer house. But we still had economic problems, at the end of 2017 I got to know the music of Shanw. And I just loved it, I listened to it when my parents went to work and I had to take care of my brother. In April 2018, we emigrated again due to xenophobia. We came to Peru, here it was much harder than Ecuador, I had to start over. I was always sad and tearful, and sometimes even music did not calm me down. I cried at night because I did not want my mother to see me. After many months, we achieved a bit of stability. A few days ago Shawn finally gave dates for Latin America. And my parents told me they would take me for a gift of 15 years. I was very happy ... But this morning they said that we would move again. I had to hold my tears. I know it sounds selfish, but in these trips the one that came out harmed was me. And when I finally manage to like it a little here, they say we'll leave. Maybe it's a passing teenage thought, as many adults say. But I would like you to think about me once and if we move, we will have a bad time. If you got here and you did not understand anything. wow itss crazy I wrote this about a year ago. my life changed again. so many old themes that I’ve had to deal with are coming up again. my confidence is at 0 again. but okay , I have done this before so I will it again. I never want to tell why I'm teary-eyed, or why I get sudden anger bursts or anxiety attacks, when it seems like the trigger is small and stupid. When someone hurts me and notices, I end up inventing something else so the other person doesn't feel bad (and mostly, so they don't ask what the bigger picture is). I became part of the Mendes army over a year ago because this song appeared on a random list, and I cried so much it actually cleared my heart for a while. I had kind of forgotten about this song, but listening to it again I feel hopeful that everything will be okay, and that, even though I can't trust most of the people I know, I still have some friends who'll help me out this hole.
