As with very few others, Michael Stipe's voice makes direct connections with the musical pleasure centers of my brain. He could stand there and sing the alphabet song acapella, and I'd stand there in open mouthed wonder while listening.

One of REMs best tracks from the 2000’s. Hope you explore them more someday, they have dozens of bangers from the 90’s and especially 80’s that are criminally overlooked nowadays

Criminally overlooked for real!

Shawn, thanks do much for reacting to this beautiful, heartwarming video. You have already reacted to "Everybody Hurts," and lead singer Michael Stipe wrote those lyrics with teenagers in mind, knowing the high rate of teen suicides. I wish I'd gotten those messages when I was a teen, and also that I would be a star! It is also a song for all of us. We all need to know there is comfort, and we are not alone. I prefer R.E.M.'s live and bootleg albums to their studio albums, and I have several of them. ✌️🎶

Thank you! Yes, I love that there are artist like this in the world to be that voice someone at a time of desperation or struggle can hear. There are many of us who have felt alone at times and music can really be that safety net when you need a word of advice

@@ShawnSalvadori there is an R.E.M. song called "Walk Unafraid" that addresses those bullied in their lives. It is a truly empowering song
