Meeting Frank Zane at the Expo Arnold Classic 2012, I was taken back by his response to a question I asked him. That being, did he train to failure when he was building competing? He said he never never trained even to positive muscular failure, ever!! I said, well the magazines back in the 70's and 80's would often advise training to failure. He got somewhat 'testy' said to me, 'are you going to have me answer for what was said in the magazines??!!'. That comment blew me away. You see, we sold, often a bill of goods in Weider's magazines. We were young and led but, it was just false. There were some bodybuilding champions that did train to failure, the trouble in doing so I learned decades later, was the debt created on your nervous system, you inability to sleep, and fatigue matched with mental imposed stress. This question was a life long mystery for me.

They should have one final posedown between classic Physique winner and open winner at the Olympia....and have an overrall Champion..then you have a sport..strategy..coming in aesthetic vs huge..like a running team vs a passing team in football...or very tall team vs short, fast team in basketball....and let the fans cheer for what they really want..

Nice interview Shawn! Looking fw seeing this channel grow. Need some serious work with the intro though - needs to be catchy and consistent ( like jay cutler’s tv channel). Shawn it would be great if you took an interview of Dave palumbo. The guy has no complexes and he must have tons of info to share. It would be a great colaboration. No one interviewed him and he interviewed 90% of the industry’s people. It will have positive impact on your channel as well

Very Interesting and very observant of Mr Zane, That is exactly what happened in 1980, The documentary "The Comeback" was filmed for Arnold and Arnold alone, If you noticed mostly all of the filming was done from far away to make Arnold look bigger but yet you could not see the other competitors cut and how ripped they were compared to Arnold. Boyer, Zane and Mentzer blew Arnold way in definition not to mention that Arnold had very poor legs in that contest.
