Looks like mine, Shawn! The video's (even tho it is outstanding) really dosn't do the bike justice. It took me quite some time to warm up to the indian, then when I heard they designed the faring to be a nod to the 40's & 50's Art Deco Locomotive styling, I got it! So unique and brilliant. I love the lines of the classic fenders and engine, and the way the hard bags follow the fenders perfectly (always hated those clumsy. boxy looking bags some bikes have). The well placed and tactful chrome highlights trough out the bike add just the right touch of shine. The deep metallic burgundy with metal flake is simple gorgeous, especially in the sunlight. This bike has it all, a fusion of classic and modern styling with the most advanced features available. And did I mention the power? So much torque, and so Smooooooth! Indeed a great bike.

If I had unlimited cash, I'd be tossing up between this or the K1600 GTL or B as a weekend cruiser. This Indian in Australia is about $42K on the road, and you can buy a lot of nice car for that sort of money! As much as I like bikes (learned on a 900 BolDor in '90, then had a CBR1000, then a Busa) and the feeling of power, I'm not sure I'd like to tour on a big bike like this.. It sure looks like the pinnacle of cruising bikes, but for a cross continent trip I'd go for 4 wheels.. Lovely thing but the compromises... But one thing that scares me about this, it weighs over 400KG! I'm not a small bloke but there's no way I'd risk blowing a pooper valve picking it up!!! Love your videos Shawn! And you and "Mumma" are a match made in heaven.

How does the Thunderstroke measure up to the Milwaukee 8 in terms of heat, vibration, and power?
@electricritual41978 жыл бұрын
I don't think he's going to reply to your request. He works for a company that sells those bikes. He's purchase a new Harley with the Milwaukee 8, and he is a mechanic that works on Indians. So not sure if there's a way he could address that without causing a problem for his self.
@CactusJack2528 жыл бұрын
I will take a stab at it. Both engines are counter balanced but the Harley motor is rubber mounted and the TS is frame mounted. Both are super smooth at speed. The M8 vibrates at idle but now where else. The TS vibrates at high rpm, close to 5,000 rpm from what I remember. Heat was low from both engines to me. As far as power the TS is a torque monster it is over 100 lbs around 2000 rpm. It averages 75 hp on the dyno. The M8 averages 82 hp but only peaks at 98 lbs of torque. All the numbers I've given is from various dyno runs I've seen on youtube and from magazines. The M8 spins up faster. It is dual spark plus and 8 valves. The TS is only 4 valves. I don't remember about spark plugs. I like both motors. There is/will be more performance parts for the M8 then the TS. Harley sells more then Indian so it is expected. The M8 is a pressed crank like the TV. The TS is a forged crank. The Harley has a drive belt behind the transmission and the Indian has it on the right side away from the transmission (think Harley sportster). Both motors has self adjusting valves. Now to ad an opinion. I think the TS motor sounds better. If you throw in the Indian stage 2 cam it sounds like a real classic motorcycle. I don't own any of them but when the time comes I will probably get the Indian. I think the Indian is better balanced. I say ride both and choose what you like.

What is your preference between the 2017 SGS and the Cheiftain? Been watching your videos, subscribed, and looking at swapping out my Dyna because my wife is riding with me more. Want a nice touring bike, but probably the Chieftain would be adequate over the roadmaster. Exhaust sounds tinny on the Indians in the videos. Haven't heard them in person. Knowing you just got the new M8, curious what your thoughts were having ridden them all.

It does not come standard with the heal shifter, but it's available as an accessory add on. They seem like they're a little longer than Harley's, if that's any reference to you... Thanks!

Shawn Smoak Thanks for getting back. That helps a great deal because I think that since the Roadmaster is supposed to be comparable to the Harley Davidson Electra Glide that has the H/T shift and the new liquid cooled M8 engine but coat more. I'm finding myself less torn about my decision the more I learn the differences between comparable Harley Davidson models and Indian. But Indian does have some really beautiful machines.

Amazing motorcycle. It's a dream to buy the Roadmaster. But the Brazilian minimum wage is R$ 977 reais, which is equivalent to US$ 246. The bike costs in the range of R$ 85,000 used year 2017. In addition the Indian stopped both assembly and import ...

Hey! Way to go Indian, they finally figured out how fugly the tan seat was! Losing that was their biggest improvement. Oh, and the inside of that dash .... it reminds me of some kind of robot or some type of bug with big eyes staring you in the face. Indians will never look as good as a Harley does.
@brianzaborowski27247 жыл бұрын
Maybe to you, but not me. I'll try to give them another chance if I go to see one in person this summer, but their looks are still hard to swallow for me. Indian makes me nervous period, they fizzled out twice before and who knows how long they'll stick around this time. Yes, they are owned by Polaris now, but keep in mind they recently got rid of the Victory line which has been around for quite some time. If/when I ever get rid of my HD my next bike will be fully liquid-cooled, not air-cooled or half-ass liquid cooled like today's Harleys.

So what's the true difference between Harly and Indian? I once had a toy indian and it did make a weerd sound. But now I've heard real ones meh there's not much difference. Is there? Am I missing something? This ingin sounds kinda like the Harly M8. But for the fact that the M8 has the whine of the V-Rod ingin. Also the rithem might be a bit different. I don't know.
