The fact that Lisa wrote the rap while in recovery and recorded it while in recovery makes her part more meaningful, for someone who also went through recovery. She is also once of the greatest MCs of my generation. She had such a unique style no one has been able to reproduced.

I remember going crazy over this song back in the 90s when it first came out. I was only a child myself at the time and just loved it because of the beat and melody but when I got older (moreso my teen years) the lyrics kicked in for me Fun fact: Left Eye wrote her rap verse while she was in rehab following a fire she set to her then bf Andre Rison house.
