Love how people talk shit about OB like he’s weak, they seem to forget he may be weaker then Hall and Shaw, but they are without question two of the strongest people who have ever lived. He keeps up with them, still an insane feat of strength. Props to all three of them.

Bamboo Training it’s because they didn’t even try to beat it they finished a workout then just decided to try it for fun even though they didn’t even know the actual record they still both got close to beating it on their first try that is insane a record that has probably lasted for a very long time in a test that has gone on for decades tried by many athletes was almost broke on a whim by two guys in a home gym just messing around

If anyone in the world can beat this records it's these types of guys but for quite a few reasons ppl talked about here they just didn't here. I wouldn't doubt that if a few of these strong men trained for 3 to 6 months they could hit 65 reps. Firstly the are all grown men, the combine guys are freaks but 21 or 22 yrs old. Also huge NFL contracts riding on it. Cardio is big issue here. A lot of NFL guys change the way they lift some as soon as they get in the league others a couple of yrs in. At a certain point who cares what you bench 550 or 625 you get paid by what's on the field. To throw up 50 reps after chest day yesterday and for shits and giggles is nuts.
@daiwilliams6232

Add the fact that they are lifting at a high altitude, performances would be better at sea level. The work strongmen do is markedly different to training for bench press reps

@@dyelbodybuild5601 I don't bench press either. I'm more of a bodyweight guy. I train for functionality. When i do chest press in the gym for strength it's dumbells, or high rep close grip bench, if its heavy i get a pain in my right shoulder, anterior deltoid, its an imbalance. I know several people that have beaten my 27, one guy that just got his procard did 45 i think. However I'm yet to see anyone around my weight do as many dips. On my video i did 44 i think on free bars at 98kg or 215lbs. But i have done 67 when i was doing less variety, so more recovery. Now with training multiple times a day i probably wouldn't get 27 reps with 100/220lbs.

When you consider brian lives far above sea level and is there all the time........ oberst did a hell of a thing. 💯. Going up in high elevation cripples the best of men. Though neither of them trained for this, brian is the best of most things. So for him to be within two reps is a true testament to oberst’s ability. Also, loved seeing some of the team back together.
