I think it's smart to do. Often times you can learn a lot from another novice. At least in BJJ, I find that I canoften learn a lot more from rolling with a purple or blue belt compared to a black belt.

teaching too much isn't necessarily a great thing though. I'm sure Devon is a great coach but maybe not for Brian at this point in Brian's journey. It's so much technical info it's an overload for someone who is still struggling to move on the table. I have to say i like Neil's approach with Eddie right now. the KISS method. Brian is strong af just learn how to be strong af on the table and learn the wizardry later. It's like teaching Quantum Computing to someone that just learned where the computer's power button is.

I love that he talks about how excited he is to finally be able to put his hands on someone and use all of his strength. He said before that he has always had to be gentle around other humans because he could really hurt somebody. Now he gets to grab someone’s arm as hard as he wants and gets to just rip it with all that adrenaline flowing through him as hard as he wants. That’s fucking terrifying.

Brian really needs a good coach that can train with him more frequently. He needs to see this first stage of his AW career more like his basketball days, where drills for learning and refining technique are the most important thing. Only once he has good technique can he approach it like a strength sport...

I’d love to see more top rolling and seeing Brian really show off his height and size. I’m also worried eddies gonna hit hard and be able to get position and Brian hasn’t worked much defensive positions so far that I’ve seen on the table. Eddie has been doing quite some training and he looks quite comfortable with honestly a very good top roll technique and looks like he’s been training for years

@@PapaspronatorHe's just very stiff & wooden. Everything he does looks uncomfortable & awkward. Eddie has been training 6 weeks & looks more fluid & relaxed.

Thing is I'm not sure Shaw will ever be ready, in the video last week Devon was holding Shaw easily. I mean Brian needs about 5 years+ to strengthen all his tendons etc. I don't think he can beat the top 15 right now.
