It's a very risky sport and can easily lead to broken bones on inexperienced people... It WILL become popular, but will take a little while... Tendon + ligament strength takes 3x times or more to develop compared to the muscle belly.

Yea helps them to stay with their arm, instead of them leaving it out to the side as they turn away from it, where it can easily break. Not that it always works. You can be in a horrible position whilst looking at your hand. But still. Wanna stay facing the table. I think just focusing on keeping your elbow at the centre of your chest is probably good advice that is easy to follow... Then keep your arm in the same position it stated in, by always following your arm when you are winning or losing, with your body. People starting out should only be both pulling though, which is easier as far not breaking one's arm by not following it sideways to the losing pad. If armwrestling gets a lot bigger, then more people will know the basics, and far less arms will be broken. Which would be a very nice public service. People should also take my comment with a grain of salt, because I am just an observer of the sport.

You know Devon is going "down under" as well. Devon has for many years been a big fan of the king's move, it's just in the last year or so he has become good enough at it to just use it in a match. Despite that he got a injury from doing it last year against Dave Chaffee. It's actually a very risky move.

Eddie's could be more like 50lb, but that's still something a teenager could break if he didn't know how to armwrestle. Someone like Devon would easily be able to flash pin Eddie while making sure he *doesn't* break his arm. Eddie is being very gracious by participating in the WAL. It's a lose lose scenario for him. He could win (he won't) and everyone would say it's because of his weight, or that it's obvious he would win because he is the wsm, or he can lose to a much lighter opponent and look weak. Knowing anything about RVJ, the wal, and the purpose of this match, it is a safe bet to say Eddie will be utterly thrashed.
