I really don't like Devon's teaching style, he spent 2 minutes telling Shaw about his body and leg position and then immediately jumps into in hand position, climbing hands, different techniques -- all while Shaw's full body flow is completely useless. Instead of spending the first like 30 minutes helping Shaw lock in the full body movement, like dragging his elbow back, the shoulder to arm positioning, locking the body and move it down while dragging back -- instead he let Shaw keep doing side pressure from his elbow. EDIT* 24:10 It's ridiculous that the first time it's ever brought up is Shaw ASKING Devon about dragging his elbow back lmao 🤦‍♂

They are both legends and this video is just off the charts. The first I ever saw of Devon was years ago when he was doing some colabs with Jujimufu. It was the way he was teaching, explaining and coaching that got me interested in armwrestling to begin with. It's so cool to see this all these years later and Devon has become even better at distilling down all his addition wisdom. Brian knows HOW to get strong and execute a movement with maximum power better than perhaps anyone Devon's ever trained with. So cool to see them both realize that what Brian needs to learn is "what" he needs to be able to do, and that he will then be able to figure out "how" to get insanely strong at doing that on his own.

Armwrestling might be the only sport where the stereotypical does not meet the outcome. People who look like balloons with their huge ass muscles means nothing in armwrestling unless they know the technics... You need good technic to beat people. Even people who doesn't have enough power but perfect technic can beat stronger people. So when Brian saw that people who are less strong than him beating him easily he wanted to learn this magic ;)

Loved hearing Brian ask towards the end about potentially pulling his elbow closer to his body to drag his opponent towards him. This will be Brian's greatest tool early on, he has some of the best rowing strength of anyone ever, maybe even #1 ever. He used to be so good at the arm over arm drag in strongman they kinda had to stop doing it.

Brian is the only man I know who chalks up his chalk. Devon is so down to earth. The dude has no ego whatsoever when it comes to teaching. He could walk around acting the shit but he stays grounded and always looks to help others. No surprise they get along since they're both cut from the same cloth. This is way too exciting. Do we also need to get John Brzenk in for a visit? Hmm!

@AdamLighter1
@AdamLighter1 Ай бұрын
@@blankname6629 Kings move is not a winning move, its not something you want to be strong with, it is a defensive, counter, losing move. Its just hoping your opponent makes a mistake and armwrestling athletes at the moment are not as good to understand it completely, so they panic with their flawed technique in the chaos. In 5 years the young generation will come and they will know how to deal with the kings move cause they always armwrestled with good technique. I can see it more and more how some people can grasp those concepts and run with it quickly.
