I do the same as you, it's good to see other Artist with the same taste of materials. I've done black panthers, cardinal birds, hummingbirds, peacocks, other items. I love this kind of art. Matter of a fact I'm going to do some for the Father's at my church. They are going to love them.

PVC = Poly Vinyl Chloride - often abreviated to just Vinyl. Releases chlor gasses and is is badly carcinogen when burnt or heated up

I would love to create these! I love the tree. I have made items on old scratched records that can't play and even then some people freak out. I love listening to records, but if they can't play anymore why get upset when someone upcycles!

@bitsandbobs45989 жыл бұрын
I would feel guilty if i did that to a record unless it was scratched to hell. I did chuck out a old Jim Reeves LP that looked scratched and dirty and sounded dreadful i wish i kept it as it would have made a great project.

Woah woah woah, dude just because they are not collectible does not mean they are worthless. I have been looking for a few of those you showed and now I am dying on the inside. I do vinyl art, but only if they are really really scratched, or they skip.

Oh my, I would NEVER cut up my cassettes!!! Come on people I date back to 4 tracks and while I save some of my LPs for mostly sentimental reasons I don't listen to them. I can do without all the crackle and pops and hisses. When that's all there was I did everything to escape the noise. When home recordable 8 tracks became available I would record my album on first listen then put it away. Same thing with cassettes. Now I literally carry around 5,345 of my favorite songs in my pocket. No noise!

i love vinyl as much as the next guy, but best hits albums, anything scratched beyond salvage may as well be put to good use, old shellac records from the 30s were produced in the millions, vinyl in the 60s+ even more were made, i dont see a problem unless youre destroying something rare or sentimentally worth saving
@EricBrownBey6 жыл бұрын
1930s records are the most rarest because it was during the Great Depression sometimes they would only make 25 copies of one song how many have survived since then since they were made of shellac

I would only do this kind of stuff to a damaged or useless vinyl. I have 2 copies of Jack White's Lazzareto Ultra LP but one got all scratched up because of a kid. I definitely turn the scratched one into something cool like this

Not sure if you're still checking messages, I hope so :P After checking out your video I tried one out as I've been thinking about it for a while. I did a double feature (Frankenstein's Monster and The Bride). I started out with a Dremel, but that left the edges rough then I saw your video with the hot knife and tried that. Much smoother, however it raised the edges as it melted and cut through. How do you flatted it out, or is that just a product of the creation? BTW your hot knife seemed to cut alot easier than mine lol. I had to really pull to get my to go thru usually.
