I've grown up and the show doesn't make much sense to me anymore (since it's aimed at teenagers), but I still love Emily's character to this day. As a bisexual woman, it was very enriching to see Shay Mitchel's character on stage, because I felt like there was nothing wrong with me being attracted to women. And I'm sure your character helped many other LGBT teenagers.

The 12 year old lied about her age (that she’s older) to get the role. And when they realized that she’s 12 it was too late and they couldn’t just change the entire script. They even asked Sasha’s parents if the kiss was okay and Sasha didn’t have a problem with it either. Also the “inappropriate things” were filmed in 2008-2015. Times were different back then.
