I use to have an ETSY shop before I opened up my own e-commerce... Etsy is cool but it's definitely important to have your own website as well for customers to purchase... All those Etsy purchases from customers could be converted to members + customers on your own website which will increase your income... I use every platform that way...

Thanks for this video! It's so refreshing to hear someone talk REAL numbers. Idea for keeping your overhead low: because you have so much sticker equipment have you considered setting up shop for artist to send you their digital work / stickers and for you to print them out? Or for local artist to come over and use your equipment. I myself would love to print out my sticker collection and sell them in local cafes to get my brand out there but don't have the physical space to store more art equipment. Selling digital products through Creative Market is also a great way to keep overhead to a minimum. Thanks again Shay!

11/10/2018...the day I opened my Etsy shop and got my first sale! 11/10/2018 has come and gone, and it’s now 11/10/2019 which makes today the first anniversary of my Etsy shop! I would like to take this time to personally thank each and every one of you who shopped with me or supported me in any other way. It means a lot to be surrounded by such positive people and have such a large amount of people rooting for me. Again, thank you much! Now about this Etsy stuff and today’s video...it was important to me that I actually sat down with myself and “crunched” the numbers for year one. Of course I assumed that the time and energy and everything else was worth it, but...I had to make sure! I’m happy to announce that I was correct in my assuming, and that’s what we’re going to talk about in today’s video. We’re talking about INCOME, EXPENSES, FEES, TAXES, etc. You know...the nitty gritty...the business side of things. I hope that you guys enjoy today’s video and learn from it. If you want to learn about how I got started or check out any of my other Etsy-related videos, click the link below. I actually have a whole playlist dedicated to Etsy! kzbin.info/aero/PLTtNlSOtdFdfEGWPSRGKQAk_MlhbMCykg If you missed my recent video where I break down how much I’m earning from KZbin, click here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/e6fNaZ6ri6doers If you’re interested in learning how I make money online, click here: kzbin.info/aero/PLTtNlSOtdFdd3NuHc7W2plyp2AiV_52CC As always, I’m not a tax professional, so I would recommend consulting with a/your tax professional regarding how much you might consider saving or setting aside for taxes. Our tax professional provided us with a recommended amount and instead of actually saving it from my monthly Etsy earnings, my husband and I sort of divided up the amount and chose to have the amount withdrawn from our checks at our full-time jobs. However, there is a general rule of thumb which sources site at around 30%. Read more here: bench.co/blog/tax-tips/how-to-set-aside-business-taxes/ Lastly, I do have a new release/surprise coming later this month to celebrate year one on Etsy, and I hope that you guys will enjoy the surprise just as much as me! 😉
