Hi Le, my mom went through the same, I wasn't even born and she was already mother of three. When my siblings and I grew up she told us about her postpartum depression and how painting helped her through it. Now my house is full with what I consider, my favorite works of art. I'm glad that you, as she did, found a kind of therapy in painting. I'm very happy for you :).

I love your style! At 68 years old and finally retired I have discovered watercolors although I am just starting out. I always loved watercolor paintings and now I am attempting to do it myself. The seventh grade art teacher who gave me a "D" really took away all confidence my whole life! I would always say I wasn't "artistic". Well it turns out I can be! Thanks for the lessons!

Flowers have always been challenge for me. Your technique looks so effortless and fun. Now that I’m partiality retired there is much more time to paint! I paint in both oils and water colors. When traveling pastels, water colors, graphite, and ink. Each has its own unique properties. So subject matter looks begin certain mediums than others. It’s fun to experiment.

I am working on drawing a Christmas-themed floral wreath. I was inspired by watching one of your tutorials on drawing leafs around a circular form. I even followed your suggestions of drawing it on grid paper first. This has been a game changer for me. It helped a lot and I am pleased with how it turned out. I have been painting in mixed media since a couple weeks now. I started off with watercolour paintings but it's been hard for me to do a detailed painting. That's why, to keep it chill, I make doodles, desgins with colour pencils and microns, on a blurry watercolour background to make it look detailed.

yess !! Back to Basics,for begginers like me this is good,because I need to understand the flow of each brush . Currently I am working on Wet on wet and adding deeper color for more natural looking flowers.. so with these flowers I think I'm going to cut them out with my hand and do a little mixed media antique kind of paper along with my blue flowers and send it to my friend in Utah !! 🍃🌾🌻🌺🙌💃❤

I had a quite severe anxiety few months back where I started to turn to arts. Still trying to learn and this Saturday I'm joining my first ever Loose Floral Watercolour Workshop for beginner. So I thought I should prolly look up some interesting basic tutorial for newbie videos and found yours! I think it's really practical and encouraging! Especially the way you describe the floral doesnt have to be real, we are creating art and having fun with it. Which makes really good tip and encouragement for us beginners! Oh! And the way you explain in detail how you mix the colour and how you hold n use the brush belly to create a flower petal and leaves and even with brilliant tips of making full use of colours to create depth in the painting!
