I have just started painting with watercolor. This is my first attempt at flowers. I kept thinking I was going to smear everything painting so close together. I’m very pleased with my first attempt. My painting is beautiful. I paused a lot but stayed with it. Thanks for hanging in for an hour. This newbie appreciates your devotion to my journey on becoming a better painter.

I love to watch you draw and paint. You have taught me so much about art! One thing you taught me is it doesn't have to be perfect! Recently I had an epiphany all my life I have loved to draw but I just realized that drawing is what I love. I have been looking at every other art medium when it's been right there in front of my face. I suppose it's better to learn it now at 61 then to never learn it at all thank you shada for all the knowledge you have shared with me.

Thank you, Shayda, for sitting and painting with us. It is so nice and instructional for me (us) to watch the artist at work. I am getting ready to paint about 55 Christmas cards for my daughter, and since I paint flowers that’s what I’ll do. Of course I’ll change the palette, but not much. I loved this video, and I’m getting ready to watch it all over again!

Thanks so much for taking a risk and painting in real time. I learned so much from this video. I especially liked your self-critique at the end. I have to remember to give myself credit for trying new things even if they don't turn out as expected! Please do more of these real time videos. Watching your process is so helpful!

I loved how "real" this all was. The process, even you explaining some of the "imperfections" in the end. It's definitely encouraging to see it and be assured that the art process doesn't have to be perfect, but can still be beautiful and fun! Thanks so much for posting this :)

I love your tutorials. I always wanted to be able to paint, and you're making it possible. I'm enjoying playing around, but what surprises me is that I've even in a short span of time become more sensitive to light and color and texture in my surroundings. I always thought I wasn't visually sensitive -- as a musician, sound has always been my dominant sense -- but I am much more so than I'd realized. Thank you so much!

This is a great video! It's so interesting to see your entire process from start to finish, and makes watercolour feel much more accessible. When I learned watercolour a few years ago, my teacher suggested using wallpaper lining paper as scrap paper to test things out on. I find it really helpful! It's cheap, you can tear off the exact size you need, and I like to use some of the nicer-looking scraps in my Bullet Journal.
