Would this be the ''inspiration'' for "Owl Call Blues''? Seems so....Peggy Lee had a recording of Mama's Gone Goodbye back in the day. The intro to this tune reminds of El Rado Scuffle also....

In the opening few bars of the Chorus (first played in this video at 00:34 after the Verse), the (mostly descending) intervals between the notes are the same as those in the first bars of 'Owl Call Blues'. Well spotted. But I think i's just a coincidental resemblance and the similarity ends there. Incidentally, 'Sweet Substitute' is another jazz standard that starts that way.
